The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) could be gearing up for a double promotion. Newman’s new CEO & COO could take over Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) whole empire if they play their cards right.
Y&R fans know Adam is already seeing a chance at more power.
Adam can tell a major rift is developing between Victor and Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) – one that could lead to her removal from the Newman-Locke throne.
Of course, that could put Adam in the prime position to reclaim the CEO spot.
If that happens, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) surely won’t want to work under Adam.
That would only add to the family drama – not to mention Nikki just doesn’t like Adam and wouldn’t get along with him.
It’s tough to imagine any scenario where Nikki wants to remain on board as Adam’s COO.
Besides, Victoria is going to need plenty of support once she’s forced to accept the truth about Ashland Locke (Robert Newman).
Nikki may want to devote all her attention to Victoria and try to get her daughter through a difficult time.
While Victoria’s off licking her wounds and leaning on Nikki, Adam can perhaps rise to power at Newman Enterprises once again.
Adam will have an even bigger empire to run now that the company has merged with Ashland’s to form Newman-Locke.
Things could get tricky since Ashland will inevitably fight to stay in control, but we all know he’s no match for Victor.
Sooner or later, Ashland will lose – and that could give Adam the freedom to do as he pleases with Victor’s approval.
Without Nikki in the picture, Adam is going to need a different COO. It makes sense for Adam to promote Sally right alongside him.
It’s possible Adam could promote Sally to CEO at Newman Media instead, but it’s more likely that he’ll bring her over to work under him at the main corporation.
Since Nikki’s COO departure should lead to a replacement, Sally seems like the perfect fit.
This would allow Adam and Sally to keep up their regular office visits – including the steamy ones!
Y&R will want to keep Sally and Adam on the same set frequently, so it just adds up all around for Sally to become the COO to Adam’s CEO at Newman-Locke – or just Newman Enterprises assuming they change the name back.
