The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) Jabot return may shock Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and lead to this couple clashing over a major career change. Billy has promised that he’s all in at Chancellor-Winters, but there have definitely been problems along the way.
Y&R fans know Billy has felt like an outsider since there’s been so much focus on this being a family company – and it’s a family that Billy isn’t part of.
That could set the stage for Billy to rejoin his own family’s business.
Now that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) wants to hire Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) at Jabot, that could give Billy an incentive to get back on board.
Billy might try to swoop in and help Jack in Adam’s place or at least hover so he can keep an eye on Adam.
The point is Billy may not be able to handle Adam potentially working at Jabot.
Although Billy loves doing his podcasts, it seems like his heart isn’t really in his work as Lily’s COO.
Billy has already been neglecting some of his duties, so that could be an issue on its own.
All of this could add up to Billy deciding it’d be best if he resigns from the COO spot.
Perhaps Billy will try to sell Lily on the idea that the Abbott clan needs him. Billy may argue that he wants to be part of a family business again like Lily.
However, Lily might feel like Billy is just reacting to Jack’s job offer for Adam.
Billy may also face backlash for bailing on Lily and the commitment he previously made to her.
Although Billy might promise to keep doing those valuable podcasts, that probably wouldn’t be enough to appease Lily.
If Billy trades his current COO job for a position at Jabot, it could spark some serious fighting in his relationship.
There’s no guarantee Billy will indeed head back to Jabot, but he certainly could now that the show’s gearing up for an Abbott and Newman war.
Jack may need all hands on deck to deal with the drama Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has in store.
Victor and Jack seem poised to become enemies again, so Billy may not be able to resist getting caught up in that battle.
