Y&R fans know Daniel is Lily’s ex-husband and first real love. Lily was quite young when she married Daniel, but they’ll always be a special part of each other’s romantic history.
Daniel and Lily are still friends to this day, so they’ll have a lot to talk about during their encounter at Society.
Lily’s role in running Chancellor-Winters will certainly impress Daniel, so he’ll gush over her accomplishments.
Since Daniel has become a big part of the art world, Lily has kept up with his work and will offer praise, too.
When Lily starts asking questions about Daniel’s upcoming exhibitions, he’ll confess that he’s taking a break from art and might be heading in a different direction with his career.
Daniel will admit he wants to figure out a new path for himself, but he’ll also drop hints about something he might already have in mind.
We’ll see Daniel talk about a more lucrative way to use his talents, but he won’t go into the details.
Of course, we can’t ignore the timing of Daniel’s return, his art connection and the fact that he wants more lucrative opportunities.
All of that could add up to being part of Tucker’s grand plan.
It’s possible Tucker has brought Daniel in as a backup mole since he’s been rather disappointed in Audra’s lack of progress.
Tucker could easily view Daniel as a secret weapon and someone that Lily wouldn’t see coming.
Audra is also an artist who linked up with Tucker through Wild Beauty, his art fund in London.
We won’t be surprised if Daniel was connected to that art fund and perhaps had a romantic relationship with Audra offscreen.
Regardless, there’s the potential for Daniel to get caught up in Tucker and Audra’s plot if he isn’t already.
Maybe that’s why Daniel will be rather cagey about his next career move and profitable goals.
Naturally, Daniel will battle guilt over deceiving Lily if that’s the case, but that might be the price of success!
This could lead to great drama if Daniel positions himself to potentially take over Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) COO role while working with Tucker and Audra.
