The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) may fight to steal Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) co-CEO spot. Will Kyle decide he wants back on the throne with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman)?
When Kyle made the decision to step away from Jabot co-CEO duties and run Marchetti, he had no idea Jack would pick Adam as his replacement.
Now the tension is already becoming a problem – as evidenced by the way Kyle ripped into Adam at that photoshoot in the park.
It’s true that Adam wasn’t really needed there, especially when Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) had enough people around to make her nervous.
At the same time, Adam wasn’t really bothering anybody by standing off to the side.
There was no need for Kyle to go ballistic the way he did, so it’s obvious that Adam is getting under his skin.
Adam has vowed to prove himself, but Kyle thinks it’s just a matter of time before Adam loses this job.
It’s possible Kyle will try to rush things along at some point.
If Adam starts making questionable choices or other moves that rile Kyle up, it might be enough to make Kyle want the co-CEO spot back.
It could be a power struggle more than anything, but it’s easy to imagine Kyle fighting to reclaim that role.
Once Kyle feels satisfied that Marchetti launch is a success, he might step away from that position.
Perhaps Kyle could convince Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) to step outside her comfort zone and run Marchetti herself.
That’d free Kyle up to blindside Adam by trying to slide back in as Jack’s co-CEO.
Jack would be reluctant to fire or demote Adam, but Kyle could still go after the job.
We might see Kyle waiting to pounce on any mistakes Adam makes and convince Jack they should be a father-son duo again.
Kyle and Adam’s war seems poised to get worse, so the tension could end up at an all-time high if Kyle works to reclaim the Jabot throne!
