The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) may kick Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) out of his life if Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) grand plan works temporarily.
When Kyle informs Diane that she’ll have to play nice and deal with Phyllis’ new job, his mom will promptly flip out.
On the August 8 episode, Diane will warn Kyle that Phyllis is going after this position to sabotage her – and that’s exactly what Phyllis is doing.
Nevertheless, Diane will ultimately resolve to stay strong and not let Phyllis win this battle.
We’ll see Diane commit to passing this test, but it may be out of her hands if Phyllis is savvy enough to make Diane’s betrayal look legit.
Since Kyle is still proceeding with caution when it comes to his mother, some deep-seated fears might take over.
Kyle may assume the worst and worry it was a mistake to trust Diane again.
Depending on how convincing Phyllis’ fake evidence is, Kyle may blow his top and decide Diane hasn’t changed at all.
It could lead to Kyle firing Diane and kicking her out of his life, which is exactly what Phyllis wants.
The goal is to get Kyle to push Diane away so that there’ll be nothing left for her in Genoa City.
Of course, there’s no guarantee Phyllis’ plan will work, but she might be able to pull it off temporarily.
If Kyle lets his insecurities regarding Diane take control, he may behave just like Phyllis has in mind.
Diane might end up heartbroken by Kyle’s rejection, but it would only be a temporary situation.
Perhaps Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) could figure out Phyllis’ setup and come to Diane’s rescue.
By the time everything plays out, Diane may be able to use all this to her advantage!
If Phyllis successfully gets Kyle to cut Diane out of the picture – even for a while – he’s only going to be more drawn to her after the trick is exposed.
Kyle may grovel to Diane and make things up to her with a promotion or by moving her into the Abbott house.
In other words, Phyllis might achieve a short-lived victory, but the odds aren’t in her favor on a long-term one at this point.
Even so, Phyllis might think she’s pulled off a win if Kyle initially buys her Marchetti setup.
