The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 12, reveals that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will invite Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to New York and steal Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) alone time with her ex. Let’s talk about how all Wednesday’s Y&R action will go down.

At Newman Media, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will arrive and wonder what Adam meant by his cryptic “good luck at Chancellor” message. Adam will act like he was simply wishing Lily well, but she’ll feel like it was a veiled threat instead.

After Lily wishes Adam luck in the battle for ChancComm, he’ll ask what she means by that. Lily will use that to illustrate what she means about not being able to take things at face value. She’ll announce that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has come on board as COO and will truly hope Adam can accept the end of the feud.

Once Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) shows up and learns Billy has waved the white flag, he’ll get updates after Lily exits. Adam will explain how Billy copied their scheme and wanted to crush them with a lawsuit, but he ultimately decided to confess and apparently thinks he’s a better person.

Victor won’t think Billy’s ever going to be a better person, but he’ll suggest leaving him alone and will have more important things on his mind. Adam won’t be pleased over the news that Newman-Locke won control of ChancComm, but Victor will think they both need to congratulate Victoria.

At Newman-Locke, Victoria will be thrilled after wrapping up a call with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton). She’ll tell Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) that they’re going to hammer out the details of the ChancComm deal – and she’ll hope to score Newman Media soon as well.

Later, Victoria will sit down with Victor at the ranch and insist she’s not there to gloat. She’ll have a proposal for Victor to consider instead, so he’ll be impressed when she says she wants to buy Newman Media.

Victor will approve of Victoria proving she’s her father’s daughter with this bold move, but he won’t see the advantage of selling it to Newman-Locke. After Victor argues that Adam has done great things for the company, Victoria will disagree and argue that he almost let Billy destroy it.

At Society, Sally will summon Chelsea to try and fix their working relationship – for real this time. She’ll want Chelsea to offer constructive criticism and stop hating her ideas just because they come from her.

Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will ultimately join the meeting, which will remain tense since Chelsea will only approve two out of 20ish ideas. Sally will feel like Chelsea is biased against her, but Chelsea will claim she’s just biased against bad ideas! She won’t even think they should have to sit through 20 and will advise Sally to pick her top five when she pitches to them.

When Adam comes in, Chelsea will excuse herself to corner him at the bar. She’ll thank Adam for helping her talk to Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and will make plans to have another important discussion with her former flame over a drink later.

Nearby, Chloe will complain about Sally obviously being interested in Adam despite her insistence that she’d act disinterested. She’ll think Sally needs to prove she’s a team player and will suggest a trip to New York to conduct some interviews ASAP.

Sally will realize Chloe wants to get rid of her and will wonder if this was Chelsea’s idea. However, Chloe will act like it doesn’t matter where the idea came from. She’ll just think it’s best for Sally to leave for a while, so Sally will decide that’s fine.

Once Chelsea rejoins Sally and Chloe, she’ll gush over her chat with Adam and how in sync they are as parents. Adam will walk over moments later and ask if he can speak with Sally, so she’ll join him outside for a chat alone. Since Sally will seem rather chilly, Adam will offer up his coat.

After Adam apologizes for being brisk and dismissive with Sally following his Billy run-in, Sally will promise they’re “more than cool.” She’ll also ask if Adam has business in New York since she has to go there and could use some company.

Back inside, Chelsea will be pleased over Chloe sending Sally to New York. She’ll intend to put some effort into fighting for Adam and will think this is a great opportunity with the competition out of the picture. Since Chelsea won’t be privy to Sally’s latest move, she’ll think Chloe just sent the only thing standing in her way out of town.

In the meantime, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will fill Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) in on his plan to pursue legal shared custody of Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware). Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will also hear the latest custody drama during her own discussion with Devon on the Crimson Lights patio.

When talk turns to Billy becoming Lily’s COO, Devon will admit he fears Billy is a professional liability. Back with Ashland, he’ll bump into Nate in the main part of the coffeehouse. That’ll lead to Ashland gushing about his positive treatment results and how great he feels.

Lily will interrupt soon after, so that’ll give her a chance at a private moment with Ashland. Now that Billy is turning the page and putting the past to rest, she’ll wonder if Ashland is willing to do that, too.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy could become a troublemaker again despite his efforts to get on a better path! CDL’s where you want to be for terrific Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news, so make us your top Y&R source.
