The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for week of May 16-20 teases that Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will work some matchmaker magic and make sure Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) scores a hot date. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will also surprise Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), so here’s what Y&R viewers can look forward to.
For starters, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will get nervous when her wedding dress is missing.
Chloe will cut it close on the delivery, but she’ll manage to get Tessa her bridal gown in the nick of time.
Next, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will push Phyllis’s buttons regarding Jack, but Jack will distract Phyllis in the aftermath.
When Jack asks Phyllis to attend the wedding together, she’ll head to Top of the Tower with him for some fun.
Diane will find out that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is serving as the officiant and will talk about how much she likes weddings.
Although Kyle won’t be in the mood to deal with mom drama on this special occasion, Diane may force him to if she crashes the reception later.
The wedding should go off without a hitch as Tessa and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) tie the knot, but what kind of drama awaits at the afterparty?
There’ll be someone who shows up unannounced, so we’ll see if Diane makes herself welcome.
As for Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), her homecoming will lead to her meeting Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) right off the bat.
It looks like Summer may rope Allie into tagging along to the rest of the nuptials since they’ll both end up there.
Allie will have a couple of different Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) encounters, so he’ll get a do-over after his first awkward one.
Let’s hope Noah can convince Allie that he’s not the dorky weirdo he first seems to be!
Noah should get on the right track eventually since all signs point to a romance being in the works.
It may take some time to build up to Allie and Noah’s flying sparks, but they’ll come sooner or later.
After the bouquet lands in Jack’s hands following the toss, that could lead to Jack and Phyllis considering their future.
Phyllis may fish to find out if more than friendship might be an option after all.
Whatever the case, Phyllis will leave Jack taken aback as they prepare to do a deep dive into their relationship.
In the meantime, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will continue to seethe over Diane’s presence and will no doubt complain to Jack after yet another stunt.
Kyle knows it could be a mistake to let Diane in all the way, but he’s opened the door to his heart just a crack.
Although Kyle has been second-guessing that decision, he’s on the verge of making a bigger commitment to Diane and Genoa City itself.
Kyle will consider moving back to GC with Summer and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), but there’ll be some complications to mull over before they can take that bold step.
Nevertheless, Diane will hope for a real relationship with Kyle – and the best place to make that happen is right there in town.
Kyle will have all the love of his family, who’ll support him every step of the way.
Once the nuptials are done, Mariah and Tessa will head home to enjoy their first night as a married couple.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will also comfort Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), who may need to lean on him a bit more once there’s no longer a wedding to keep her mind off losing Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).
Back with Chloe, she’ll give Esther some guidance when it comes to finding love.
Esther has talked about getting on a dating app before, but she’ll admit it’s not going well.
Chloe will investigate Esther’s profile and determine that she just needs to do a better job of selling herself.
Once Chloe makes a few changes, Esther will get a more positive response – especially from some handsome fella named Dwight (Sam McMurray)!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Esther could make quite a love connection if this date goes well, so stay tuned.
