Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 22, reveals that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) showed Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) the vial that he stepped on, so they determined that someone who’d been in that office was likely on drugs.
Johnny worried it could be EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) considering how out of it his father had been lately, so he decided to confront him on Wednesday’s Days episode.
At the DiMera mansion, EJ was feeling more like himself after sleeping with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), but he worried the passionate turn in their relationship was only happening because of Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) moving on with Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty).
Nicole acknowledged that news was a factor, but she argued that she’d sleep with Eric’s brother if this were really about revenge!
Of course, Nicole was rooting for Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) to reunite with Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), but EJ wasn’t since Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) would be more powerful as a united couple.
Regardless, Nicole urged EJ not to worry about Eric and acted like EJ was a better match for her.
EJ admitted he didn’t want a casual fling, so Nicole reiterated they should just see where things lead.
Next on Wednesday’s Days episode, Johnny knocked on the door, so EJ and Nicole hastily got dressed. Once Johnny entered, he held up the drug vial and asked if it belonged to EJ.
After EJ got updates on Johnny’s suspicion that he was using drugs, he assured his son that the vial wasn’t his.
However, EJ thought Johnny did the right thing by coming to him and checking.
Johnny went downstairs and called Wendy to let her know the vial wasn’t EJ’s. Although EJ was a skilled liar, Johnny had gotten pretty good at reading him and thought his dad was telling the truth.
Back with EJ, he mulled over the vial with Nicole. That led to EJ wondering if Stefan might be drugging him.
In the park, Brady admitted to Stefan that he used a burner phone to spoof Chloe’s number and lure him there.
After Brady ranted about Stefan stringing Chloe and Gabi along, Stefan protested that he truly loved them both.
Brady felt Chloe belonged with him and thought Stefan was taking a risk with Gabi, who wasn’t a patient woman and might not wait around.
Stefan argued that Gabi would wait as long as it took since he was the one true love of her life.
If this kept up, Brady thought Stefan would be the biggest mistake of Gabi’s life instead. In fact, Brady thought Stefan already was Gabi’s biggest mistake!
Brady acted like Stefan was making everyone miserable, but Stefan thought this was really about Brady’s own misery.
Stefan reminded Brady that the only reason Chloe was available in the first place was because he broke her heart.
Brady hinted about having things in motion regarding Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) and the rest of the deprogramming, but Stefan got fed up and started to leave.
That led to Brady putting Stefan in a chokehold until he was unconscious.
In Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) hotel suite on Wednesday’s Days episode, he assured Gabi there was no catch when it came to the DiMera shares he was offering.
Gabi was skeptical, but Li suggested she shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
Since Gabi still didn’t believe Li, he finally admitted there was one thing she could do for him.
Li wanted Gabi to stay married to him for six months and give him a chance to change her mind about the divorce.
Gabi refused at first, but Li pointed out he could drag out the divorce much longer than that. If Gabi didn’t love Li again at the end of the six months, Li suggested she’d be richer and could live happily ever after with Stefan.
Li acted like Gabi had nothing to lose and couldn’t pass up an offer this good. In the end, Gabi caved in and shook on the deal with Li.
At the Salem PD on Wednesday’s DOOL show, Eric lied about being Sloan’s paralegal to gain access to Dr. Rolf.
After Eric revealed that Sloan was working for Li and had offered poor guidance, Dr. Rolf signed his statement against Li and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk).
That gave Dr. Rolf his freedom, so he was ready to head back to his laboratory until Eric said not so fast!
Meanwhile, Stefan awoke tied to a bed and wondered where he was. Brady confessed that Stefan was in Eric’s room above the pub and mentioned that it wasn’t fun carrying his “heavy ass” up there.
Stefan had questions, but Brady felt that they’d be answered soon enough.
Moments later, Eric arrived with Dr. Rolf so he could carry out the rest of Stefan’s deprogramming.
