General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Ava Jerome (Maura West) may be wrong about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) being over for good if Nina’s secret comes out.
Ava is making this judgment based on the Sonny she’s known for years, but what about this more mellow version of Sonny that came out of Nixon Falls?
Will THAT Sonny really never forgive Nina for making an impulsive decision against Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and turning her over to the SEC for a crime she actually committed?
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) were all convinced the world would end if Sonny found out Dex was dating Joss.
There were all these concerns about Dex paying the price, but Sonny barely cared! Sonny mostly just got irritated with Dex for deceiving him and said that he didn’t want to be the romance police.
The people who knew Sonny before Nixon Falls seem to think he’s still the same ruthless guy he used to be, but Sonny keeps proving that he’s pretty compassionate and willing to move on.
Just look at how fast Sonny got past Carly’s decision to secretly have a DNA test done and hide the fact that Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) was Nina’s daughter.
In other words, Sonny may not be quite as unforgiving as Ava’s predicting.
There might actually be more drama in Sonny understanding that Nina made a mistake she now regrets.
In GH’s May 24 episode, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) brought up the idea of Carly turning over Sonny to the justice department.
By providing a bigger fish and working out a deal, Carly could potentially get these SEC charges to go away.
Michael will even try to entice Carly with an offer during the week of May 29-June 2, which could be about the evidence he acquired.
Perhaps Michael will consider betraying Sonny for Carly’s sake since the Pikeman proof would be the perfect thing to help her.
Carly made it clear that she wouldn’t turn on Sonny under any circumstances, but that may not be true!
If Sonny finds it in his heart to forgive Nina, that could convince Carly to retaliate against her ex-husband.
Carly might take Michael up on his offer and sink Sonny by having him arrested.
Maybe Sonny could even be arrested on his wedding day if the truth is revealed and he stands by his decision to marry Nina.
Bottom line, Sonny has become more forgiving lately, so he could get past what Nina did. Carly might consider that a betrayal and respond with one of her own!
