General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may eventually summon Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) for a conversation about his future. GH fans know Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) recently went to Sonny and asked him to fire Dex, so Sonny had to ask whether this idea was coming from Joss or Dex himself.
Josslyn confirmed it was what Dex wanted – though she was quick to point out that he didn’t know she was talking to Sonny about this.
Even so, Sonny insisted Dex should come to him if he indeed wanted out.
If Sonny didn’t mean that, it’s doubtful that he would’ve told Josslyn.
Sonny is definitely implying that he might let Dex go, but it’s reasonable to expect Dex to have an honest conversation first.
Unfortunately, full honesty isn’t an option here.
Dex certainly can’t tell Sonny that he only got involved in his organization to help Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) put him in prison and now that plan’s off!
Nevertheless, Sonny remembers what it’s like to be a young man in love and can understand why Dex would want to walk away when Josslyn’s pressuring him.
It’d be easy for Dex to claim he just wants Josslyn to be safe and suggest that he’s thinking about the family they might have one day.
Sonny isn’t the monster Josslyn makes him out to be and genuinely seems to like Dex, so could he agree to cut him loose?
We could see that happening, but Sonny might also have one final job for Dex to do before he goes.
There’s one thing that’s really bothering Sonny when it comes to his business – and that’s the mystery of who was behind the warehouse attack.
Sonny told Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) to give the people at Pikeman a message and refused to work with them again until they figured out who came after him.
Valentin and Sonny will have another meeting during the week of June 5-9, so it sounds like they’ll discuss the latest developments.
Whether Pikeman points Sonny in the right direction or he finds out another way, he’s sure to find out who this mysterious enemy is sooner or later.
Once that happens, could Dex be ordered to take out this foe in exchange for his mob freedom?
Maybe Sonny could keep evidence that Dex is a murderer and hold it over him as part of his exit strategy.
Josslyn worries Dex knows too much for Sonny to let him out, but Sonny might take care of that problem by having plenty of dirt on Dex as well.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny might push Dex to carry out one last order, so stay tuned for updates on the surprising news that might be headed his way.
