General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, January 26 Recap – Nina Not a Match - Drew & Carly Back In Bed – Gladys’ $175,000 Debt

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 26, reveals that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was too nervous to eat the food Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) offered and just wanted to get back to the hospital.

Before Nina could leave, Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) showed up to check on her and learned the bone marrow donor match results might be in tonight.

Nina didn’t even want to think about what would happen if she wasn’t a match.

Although Nina worried it was already too late for a relationship with Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), Sasha offered a pep talk.

When Sonny revealed that Willow pushed him to reconcile with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), that also gave Nina hope for the future.

Soon after, the lab called with the results Nina had been waiting on.

At the hospital, Willow told Michael that all the waiting was torture. After Willow admitted she was scared, Michael said he was scared, too.

Meanwhile, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) was surprised to run into Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) at GH and reminded him to be nice.

Ned and Brook Lynn visited Willow together, but Willow mentioned Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and worried she’d made things awkward for BLQ.

Once Michael and Ned stepped out, Willow wondered how Brook Lynn was coping with the breakup.

Brook Lynn was struggling to know whether to hold on or move on, so Willow offered some advice.

If Brook Lynn couldn’t picture her life without Chase, then Willow thought she shouldn’t give up.

Willow took Brook Lynn’s hand and assured her that miracles happen every day.

Back with Ned, he told Michael that he didn’t just come for Willow. Despite any issues in business they’d had, Ned felt that family came first and offered Michael support.

At The Savoy, Selina Wu (Lydia Look) told the bartender to put Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) drink on her tab since he was very effective at influencing the game tonight.

Cody got Selina’s condolences on Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) as Mac Scorpio (John J. York) appeared with Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) nearby.

Mac was clearly concerned about Cody getting tangled up with Selina, so Felicia called him out on how much he cared.

Once Felicia and Mac approached Cody, he declined their invitation to join them and thought he should head home.

As for Britt’s memorial service, Cody hadn’t decided whether he would attend – though he appreciated Mac sending Felicia to break the news of her death.

Next, Selina cornered her “old friend Gladys” after her latest losing streak.

It was time to cover Gladys’ debt since she’d exhausted her credit. After Selina revealed that Gladys owed $175,000, she asked when she could expect payment.

Glady didn’t have that kind of cash on hand, so she offered up Brandon Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) garage instead.

After Gladys said she could get her daughter-in-law to sign it over, she insisted she had the power to make decisions for her.

Cody spied the interaction and realized Gladys was likely the mother-in-law in charge of Sasha’s guardianship.

Once Cody asked Selina the last name of the woman he just took to the cleaners, he learned it was Corbin.

Before sauntering off, Selina said Gladys was also involved with Deception.

“So it would seem,” Cody muttered to himself moments later.

At the Metro Court, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) approached Ava Jerome (Maura West) at the bar and handed over the signed divorce settlement agreement.

Ava was getting everything she wanted: Spoon Island, Wyndemere and all its contents.

Nikolas acted like Ava was taking away the only thing he had left to treasure, but he felt there was still love between them.

After Nikolas hinted about things not being exactly as they seemed, he felt confident that they’d be reunited.

Nikolas acted like he’d be living with Ava at Wyndemere in love again one day, but she made it clear that would never happen.

Ava then took off her ring and left it on the bar in front of Nikolas.

At Kelly’s, Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) mind was made up about going after custody of his younger sibling, but he wanted Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) honest opinion.

Trina didn’t think Spencer was ready to be a father, which would come with an insane amount of responsibility.

There was also the matter of Spencer’s social life and what being an instant father would do to his future relationships.

Spencer wondered if Trina meant people wouldn’t want to be his friend or girlfriend if he had a baby in tow.

That led to Spencer asking if Trina would want to be with a man who was raising a baby, so Trina acted like it’d depend on the situation.

Spencer questioned if this would affect their plan to go after the killer by pretending to be friends or something more.

However, Spencer eventually asked if they were playing the game or if the game was playing them.

After Spencer pointed out they’d grown closer behind the scenes, Trina admitted it may not just be acting for her. Both Trina and Spencer saw each other in a different light now.

Spencer assured Trina that he wasn’t going to hurt her again, so she said she felt he’d grown up and changed.

After Trina talked about telling Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) that she could make her own choices, she said they didn’t have to pretend anymore or hide their friendship.

Spencer seemed a little disappointed over Trina’s use of the word “friends” instead of something more, but he was pleased that they were on good terms again.

The conversation shifted back to the custody mission, so Spencer hoped this didn’t affect his friendships and asked Trina to keep his plans under wraps.

Trina was ultimately proud of Spencer for stepping up, so he assured her that it was sticking to his commitment.

At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) wondered if Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) could forgive her for her deception regarding Nina’s DNA results.

Carly wanted a chance to make things right and asked where they stood.

When Drew said he couldn’t do this again, Carly tearfully insisted she understood and started to leave. Drew called out that in the future, they couldn’t lie to each other anymore.

Once Carly realized they indeed still had a future, she kissed Drew passionately and asked him to come home with her.

That led to Carly and Drew making love in her bedroom.

Back with Nina, she entered Willow’s hospital room after receiving the results from the lab.

Sadly, Nina wasn’t a match and explained that she didn’t have the right markers to be Willow’s donor.

Nina was so sorry and confessed that she thought she’d be able to end this nightmare.

Willow wasn’t sure anyone could and turned over to cry – leaving a helpless Nina wishing she could comfort her.

After Michael found out Nina wasn’t a match, he rejoined Willow.

Although Willow felt they were out of options, Michael held her close and refused to give up on finding a donor.

As Nina left GH with Sonny, she had an angry meltdown outside. Sonny embraced Nina as she said she wouldn’t survive losing another child.

Inside, Brook Lynn talked to Sasha about all the devastation.

When Sasha and Brook Lynn realized Chase should get updates, they both said “I should call him” in unison.
