General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Tuesday, January 3, tease that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) will enjoy a romantic getaway with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) as New Year’s Eve continues on the ABC soap. Carly will have the ideal celebration with Drew, but she’ll be keeping some huge secrets.
The longer Carly lies to Drew’s face, the more trouble she’ll be in when the truth unravels.
Carly is basically breaking her own heart by sabotaging Drew’s search for Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) biological parents – even if she doesn’t realize it yet.
While Carly’s deception deepens, so will Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) feelings for each other.
Spencer and Trina are putting on a show to draw Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) out of hiding, but the lines are obviously blurred since their love’s the real thing.
Meanwhile, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will face an inner battle over Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
The cop part of Dante knows Sonny needs to face justice for his crimes, but the devoted son part of Dante doesn’t want to see his father behind bars.
Dante will share his complicated perspective with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), who should offer some guidance.
However, the fact that Sam’s willing to listen and comfort Dante will matter just as much as any words of wisdom.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) will give Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) the full scoop on Esme intentionally backing off the turret.
Although Liz will be relieved to know Nikolas didn’t push the mother of his child, she’ll be skeptical about Esme surviving the fall this time around.
Elizabeth will point out that Esme is very pregnant – not to mention it’s January!
Those frigid waters will concern Liz, but GH fans know Esme has nine lives and isn’t afraid to use another one swimming to safety.
Nikolas will assure Elizabeth that no one will ever find out about Esme’s time in captivity, but that plan is bound to crumble once Esme turns up alive once more.
As for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), she’ll reflect on Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) birthday party and what the future holds.
Maxie may wonder if Britt and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) might become more than friends, but they’ll sadly never know.
Britt will be ready to leave Port Charles in 10 minutes, but she might eventually decide this is where she belongs after all.
Of course, that’s when “The Hook” could force another change of plans and set the stage for crushing news!
Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is currently in “The Hook’s” path, but it looks like a twist will lead to someone else getting jabbed.
Whether Britt saves Josslyn or simply gets in “The Hook’s” way in the aftermath, her exit could turn deadly if she’s not careful.
