In tonight’s NCIS: LA episode, It’s the year 2003. A woman runs on foot at night with a NAVY sweatshirt on. She attempts to run from her captor who is driving after her.
Its present day and the NCIS crew has been called in to solve a murder after an officer pulls a car out of a pond at the location where the woman in a NAVY sweatshirt was running. The woman has been identified as Brittany Perez and there is now new evidence in her case. They have yet to find her body.
Hollace pays a visit to his son. It looks like him and his wife are having trouble. He is staying in a new apartment. Callan and Hanna arrive to the scene of their new case. They meet the lead investigators Daisy. She has a strong presence, welcoming them to cold cases. They check the trunk and find Brittany. Daisy tells them the original investigators were sloppy and have retired or died.
Deeks and Kensi talk with Brittany’s mom. She is devastated. She cannot tell them much but she new back then her daughter was having issues with her roommate. Meanwhile, Hanna and Callan pay a visit to a suspect in the case. They meet his dad who used to serve. He explains his son Aaron has been through a lot. His son argued with Brittany before she disappeared but he is innocent.
Aaron returns home and reluctantly talks to Hanna and Callan. Its been 20 years he tells them. He doesn’t remember much. They think her is lying. They managed to get his DNA. They will know soon enough. At headquarters, Daisy sends files to the cold case and there are a lot of boxes.
Hollace tries to talk to his son about his drinking and changing his life. The two gees into an argument about life and how hard it can be.
The team learns Brittany had issues with Aaron and even went to her commanding officer for help but he didn’t take her seriously. Deeks and Kensi pays Brittany’s old roommate a visit. Jen finally sits and talks to them.
She confesses to Kensi that Aaron assaulted her. Thats why she left the Navy. Brittany knew. She reported it and then went missing. Jen was so scared she didn’t talk to her again.
Hanna and Callan question Aaron’s old roommate. They want to know if he helped. He denies he and Aaron had anything to do with Brittany. Across the city, the team realizes it might be Aaron’s dad they are after.
Aaron’s best friend gave them a lot to go off of. Deeks steals the dad’s DNA from the trash from a pair of gloves. They learn he is a match – he is the killer.
Fatima tells the team they are trying to track down the dad and it appears he might know that as he has gone to a storage facility to get his rifle. The team gets ahead of him and stops him at the facility. He yells her just wanted to stop Brittany from ruining his son’s life. He doesn’t want to spend his life behind bars. They take him in.
Hollace manages to try and get along with his son. He spends the night instead of flying home. meanwhile, the team says their goodbyes to Daisy who is on to her next cold case.
