The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) may find themselves at odds down the road. B&B writers could capitalize on an opportunity they previously missed, so let’s talk about how this might play out.
Since Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) biological mother, all her craziness tends to overshadow any Finnegan family drama.
Li is Finn’s adoptive mom and the only one who really counts in his book, so maybe it’s time to focus on her bond with him for a while.
In the past, Steffy cheated on Finn with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and initially thought she was pregnant with her ex’s baby.
Li should’ve loathed Steffy from the get-go over all that, but she didn’t object when Finn tied the knot with her.
B&B allowed Li to become a loving mother-in-law – at least until she kept quiet about nursing injured Finn back to health following the alley crisis and let Steffy believe he’d perished.
Li finally showed some disdain for the Forresters around that time, but they could’ve done more with the feud.
Of course, the show had an even bigger chance at animosity once Steffy found out about Li’s deception.
Although Li’s efforts to save Finn were heroic, she let Steffy suffer for months.
Steffy even checked in a facility to get help with her grief, but all of that could’ve been avoided if Li had just confided in her. As Finn’s wife, Steffy deserved to know what was going on.
Unfortunately, Steffy was barely allowed to be annoyed with Li, so the writers have consistently skipped opportunities for juicy conflict.
Now that Liam has kissed Steffy in Rome and in her own home, it could lead to major trouble. What happens once that secret spreads to Li since it presumably will somewhere down the line?
Whether Steffy confesses or everything leaks through eavesdropping, those lip locks won’t stay buried indefinitely.
Li might get the wrong idea about who initiated the kiss or at least assume Steffy wanted it just as much as Liam. Maybe Li will even find herself wondering if more than a kiss went down.
We know that Li is a fierce mama bear, so she could unleash her fury on Steffy – especially since the ex-husband Steffy previously slept with is involved here.
With Sheila in prison, it’d be refreshing to see Steffy clash with Li for a change. Sheila is a lunatic who’ll never have a real connection with her bio son, but Li is someone who matters to Finn a great deal.
Finn could get caught in the middle of his adoptive mom and wife’s faceoffs, so there’d be some interesting places to go with this Li and Steffy angle.
How will Li react once she gets updates on Liam and Steffy’s kisses? Could Li misinterpret things once the news leaks and finally launch some hostility with Steffy?
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Steffy and Li could at least have a showdown or two, so stick with the CBS soap.
