In tonight’s The Equalizer episode, Colton Fisk reentered the picture. He came back because he had a job for Robyn. He needed her to make contact with an ex-MI6 Agent. She correctly guessed he was talking about Rick Dawson. Rick had been an associate. He got an asset killed. He was kicked out by his agency.

He was living overseas under the radar. No one knew where he was, but they knew he would come out of hiding for Charles Batley. Batley was MI6. He was also Dawson’s best friend. Batley was killed in Europe. He was supposed to be working a joint task force in finding enriched plutonium rings that were stolen from Russia when he was murdered.

The plutonium was dangerous in the wrong hands. Both the CIA and MI6 were willing to forgive Rick his trespasses if he finds the file with the location of the hidden cache on it. He could finally come out of the cold. Everyone knew he would want that more than anything. They just had to convince him it wasn’t a trap. Spies, even former ones, weren’t exactly trusting. They sent Robyn because she’s worked with Rick before and she could get him to understand that they weren’t going to kill him.

They actually needed his help. He gets to return to London if he finds the file. He knew Batley best. There was a lot at play here. Robyn was sent to Paris because that’s where Batley died and they all knew Rick would go there to investigate what happened to his friend. It didn’t take Robyn all that long to find him. She had to fight him for a minute before he was willing to hear her out and her not killing him when she had the chance finally got through to him. He realized she wasn’t sent there to kill him.

Rick heard out Robyn after that. He quickly agreed to do what everyone wanted and to try and find this file. But there were issues. They weren’t the only spies in Paris. They ran into one at Batley’s apartment. Robyn had to put her down just to survive. After the spy was dealt with, they ran fingerprints from Batley’s apartment. The fingerprints came back as belonging to Freddie Walker. He was a hacker that Batley used. He was his version of Harry. Not that Harry liked to hearing that because he hated Walker.

Walker stole his code then turned it into profit. Hearing that he was also helping a spy had led to Harry accusing the guy of copying him. Both men were a lot alike in their skills There was only one way they differed. Walker was dead while Harry was still very much alive. Walker had been tortured and then murdered. Him being dead meant that the people looking for the file hadn’t gotten answers from Batley. Batley went to his death without giving up the plutonium secret. Walker probably hadn’t known where the file was and that’s why he was ultimately killed.

Robyn also learned the truth about that asset’s death. Rick had been more than an associate. They had a brief fling that ended when she was abruptly told to return to the States and he hadn’t known that until he had to kill someone for her. Rick told Robyn that the asset had followed him back to her hotel. He pulled a gun on Rick. He tried to kill him. Rick became concerned for what he might do to Robyn and so he killed him in spite of it being against his orders from MI6. Only Rick went to go check on Robyn in bed after that and that’s when he found out she had left without telling him.

Rick hadn’t known Robyn was CIA until that very moment he realized she was gone. He asked Robyn about that in Paris and she admitted to being CIA. She also told him that he met more than she let on. They grew close again. They also figured out where the file was. They went to go pick it up when they were surprised by a dead man. His name is Diego Alcazar. He’s the man that Rick was supposed to have killed. It turns out Rick had just shot him and he went over the balcony. And he came up with the idea to let the world believe he was dead.

His dead cover allowed him to play the terrorist. He’s the one that has been trying to kill Rick. Rick was attacked in Belgium before his friend was murdered. They were written off as civilians and Rick knew better. He had told Robyn about it. Its why he tried to fight her when they met up again. He benched what happened to him to get justice for Batley and all along the two things were connected. Diego was behind everything. Fisk suspected he might be alive. He had someone inside of Diego’s crew and unfortunately that person died trying to protect both Robyn and Rick from Diego. And so Fisk came to deal with the problem himself.

Fisk never tells the full truth. Robyn realized she should have known better than to trust him with Rick’s life. Diego had grabbed the file from them, but they pursued him. They chased him into a warehouse where Diego got the drop on Rick. He had a gun trained on Rick. He told Robyn that Rick could live if she let him go with the file. She couldn’t do that and so she shot him by shooting through Rick. Rick has a shoulder wound only they got to detain Diego and Rick was able to return to London now that they have the file.

Rick invited Robyn to London except she had to turn him down. She had to return to the States and so they will always have Paris. Robyn meanwhile grew tired of Fisk manipulating her. She got rid of the plutonium rather than bring it to him. She told him he either learns to give her the full truth or he gets nothing from her.

Back in the States, Robyn’s daughter was discriminated against for wearing braids in her hair. She went after an internship and she was told she’d get it in return for straightening her hair. It was against the law as well as being morally wrong to deny Delilah a job for her hair type. Delilah decided to walk away from the internship. She felt her dignity was more than a job. She went back there to turn it down when she started talking to a black woman that works there. The woman has to wear straighten hair. She hates their racist boss. And she still didn’t side with Delilah because she needed the job to pay for student debt.

Delilah learned that some people compromise themselves, but her family refuses to do that. And Harry and Mel almost bought a house in Connecticut only for them to realize they prefer the city.

THE END!
