In tonight’s #TheGoldenBachelor its Hometowns week! It was very important to Gerry to meet the families. He was falling in love and, while he didn’t want to give the ending away, he was meeting the families to see if there was room for him at the Thanksgiving table.
However, the last time he met his future wife’s family was in 1968. It was only natural if he was a little rusty about it. He just wanted to make a good impression and hopefully come to a decision about which family he’ll be joining. He first went to Theresa’s home. He has a wonderful connection with Theresa. She puts him at ease. She seems to instinctually know when he needs comfort without him even saying so.
Theresa is a wonderful person. She’s tried dating since her husband passed away only she never found that spark. The spark she had with her late husband. The same spark she has with Gerry. Theresa made a great first impression and he told her family all about it when they met.
Gerry explained how he wasn’t sure if he could look at her in her birthday suit because he didn’t know the gentlemen code in 2023. He just stayed looking at her face. And he remembered that she made him laugh when they first met.
Theresa’s family were not surprised by her antics. They saw how happy that she was with Gerry and so they made sure to get to know Gerry. Theresa’s daughter was there along with Theresa’s siblings. Her grandsons were also there. Gerry first spoke to the grandkids. They all wanted to know if he was fun.
Which he was. Which he proved. He was able to bond with them. Theresa’s daughter however didn’t beat around the bush. She got her confidence from her mother. She came right and asked Gerry if he was falling in love with her mom. And he gave her a maybe in the kindest way possible.
Gerry said that he doesn’t know what it feels like to fall in love again. All he was willing to admit to others as well as himself was that he feels he might be capable of loving her.
Only there’s no doubt she was in love with him. Her family could all see it in her eyes. She lights up around him. Her eyes sparkle just talking about him. She also told him that she was in love with him tonight and so she was ready to commit. And because they could see how happy she was with him, her family would be happy if he joins their family.
The grandkids were ready for him to become their new Pop Pop. Everyone felt at ease around Gerry. This went for Faith’s family as well. He met up with Faith and her family next. Faith made the biggest impression from the first time they met and she was the one he gave his first rose to.
There was a bit of la lull afterwards. He actually had to invite Faith on a one on one because he wasn’t sure if the feelings were still there or if they fizzled. They were thankfully still there. Faith was falling in love with him. And so the only downside was that Faith didn’t think she’d able to move if they ended up together.
Faith wouldn’t want to leave her family behind. The same goes for her horses. She lost a horse not that long ago and she wouldn’t want to be far removed from his resting place. Only she really was falling in love with Gerry. He’s given her something she’s always wanted and never found. Safety. Faith has been in one bad relationship after another and they’ve never given her the safety she lost after she became a homeless teenager. Her guard was finally down. Her family could see that with Gerry around.
Her sister has never believed in love before but seeing Gerry with Faith has helped changed that perspective. She could see that the couple were in love. Her sister told Gerry that and that seems to have cemented Gerry’s feelings. He told Faith he loves her tonight and she returned it back. He added to the cameras that he now feels torn between Faith and Theresa. He has feelings for both. He enjoyed his time with both of their families. He has the approval of both. And he didn’t remember Leslie until it was time for her Hometown.
Leslie’s Hometown was the third and final visit. She had lost her dad when she was sixteen. Her older brother stepped up to fill that role. He acted as a father figure and he has a hard time with the Bachelor experience. He knew that his sister was falling in love with Gerry. He spoke with Gerry tonight. He said that he has a hard time imagining his sister won’t get hurt seeing as Gerry was dating two other people. Gerry could only say that this was a first for him. He had no idea what to do in this situation. He just knows that he doesn’t want to hurt anyone.
Even as he was finally able to tell someone that he loves them, he was back to kissing another woman. He kissed Leslie. He loved up on Leslie. He was a really nice guy to her family and so he’s fallen into the Bachelor trap. He has sensory overload with trying to juggle so many women. He saw a future with each. He didn’t know how to disappoint any. And yet he had to say goodbye to someone tonight.
Gerry gave his first rose to Leslie. He then had a panic attack before giving his second and final rose to anyone. And so tonight ended on a cliffhanger.
