The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will have a tough decision to make soon. Although Billy vowed to put in more effort and said he’d make a couples counseling appointment, that doesn’t mean he’ll actually attend.
Just before Billy and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) are set to have a therapy session together, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) might summon Billy for help with some crisis.
Y&R fans know Chelsea is on a recovery journey, so there are going to be more setbacks and struggles along the way.
Chelsea is trying not to rely on Billy too much now that she realizes the extent of his problems with Lily.
Even so, Billy is the person who knows how to calm Chelsea down better than anyone else.
When Billy saved Chelsea from jumping off the rooftop that fateful night, he became her lifeline.
Billy vowed to see Chelsea through the bumpy road ahead, so he feels obligated to stick to that promise – no matter the cost.
We have no doubt that if Billy thought Chelsea was in distress, he’d bail on couples counseling in a heartbeat.
Billy might get some text updates from Chelsea at the last second and leave Lily facing bad news.
The problem is Billy has a hard time telling the difference between a real emergency and a more minor issue that someone like Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) could handle.
This could be a case of Billy overreacting and bailing on Lily unnecessarily.
Regardless, Billy is on his last shot with Lily and may blow it soon enough.
Even Billy himself knows he’s a perpetual screwup, so why would anyone think this attempt to fix things with Lily would go well?
It’ll speak volumes if Billy doesn’t show up for his couples counseling appointment, so Lily could dump him for good over a move like that.
Billy might defend his actions if he has a Chelsea-related excuse, but that may not be good enough. Lily may realize it was a bad idea to try again and break up with Billy permanently.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy will make a crucial choice that should lead to drama during the week of January 9-13.
