There’s a time and a place for business stories, but soaps should always make time for love stories and wild revenge plots, too.
It’s all about striking the right balance, so Y&R needs to dial down the business drama and focus on some other things.
As for Chance, it’s an odd choice to move him out of a career in law enforcement just so he can be a businessman.
Chance will trade his badge for a suit and tie, but that brings us to another problem the show’s facing.
Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) has retired from the GCPD – and now Chance is about to turn in his resignation.
Chance only recently signed up to be the new police chief, but he’s about to step away and leave the show without any cops on canvas.
That seems like a problem that the show may need to rectify eventually.
Genoa City should always have a detective on hand to look into cases and make any necessary arrests.
Even if Chance isn’t going to serve as the resident cop on canvas, someone else could fill the void.
Perhaps all this is setting the stage for a new detective to come on the scene and get more airtime.
