In tonight’s Fire Country episode, Gabriella sure moved on fast. It hasn’t even been a year since she broke up with Bode. Or even with Jake for that matter and she’s already engaged to someone else. She got engaged after four months with this new guy. It wasn’t going to work. Everyone could pretty much sense that.

They still wished her the best and tried to prepare for the worst. Gabriella was an adrenaline junkie. It’s how she got her kicks. She didn’t stay with Jake when there was no drama. She didn’t fight for Bode when there’s nothing other than drama. And that’s because Bode pushed her away.

Bode did it for her own good. She doesn’t see it that way and now he knows what that feels like. Bode found out that he might be Genieve’s father. There’s no guarantee that he is her father.

Cara had slept with someone else during that window and she wasn’t sure who Genieve’s father was. Jake had lied about that when he told Bode he was a dad. He told this lie because he thought he was doing it for Bode’s own good. Bode was in a position of kill or be killed. He needed something to give him hope.

Jake didn’t feel sorry about that lie at all. He knew it saved Bode’s life. Bode could do a DNA test. Cara wasn’t in any rush because Genieve hasn’t asked about her bio dad and was still angry.

Genieve thought her grandparents were her parents. She thought Cara was her sister. Then her parents die. She’s stuck living with Cara. She’s a really angry preteen. She was trying to live with Cara and she wasn’t ready to open that can of worms. No one could blame the girl. Cara doesn’t. Cara wants to let Genieve decide what comes next.

Cara told Bode this. He tried to understand. It’s just hard for him. He really wants to be a dad. He didn’t realize how much until his conversation with Jake and now he’s filled with hope.

Bode was later called out to a fire with the rest of the prisoners. Some kids had thrown a party in the woods. They had a bonfire. The firefighters had to put it out when suddenly Genieve comes out of the woods. Her babysitter dragged her to the party. Her babysitter went off into a cave with one of her friends. And Genieve was left unattended.

It’s a miracle Genieve didn’t get hurt. Vince found her. He brought her to a safe place where Bode saw her. Bode thought she looked like him and he couldn’t resist talking to her.

It was only for a few minutes before she ran off to her Uncle Jake. Jake was her godsend. Bode was merely a criminal that used to live next door. Bode was trying not to let that affect him only that wasn’t the one underwhelming moment of the night. He saw his mom. She refused to see him or treat him like her son. She simply talked to him as if he was another prisoner doing the program.

Bode also tried to apologize to Gabriella. Gabriella didn’t take it well. She thought maybe her letters to him had gotten lost and she didn’t like hearing that he did read them.

He simply chose not to respond to them. Bode was having a really bad night that his new friend wasn’t helping with. Cole was another adrenaline junkie. He kept pushing Bode to do more. He even talked Bode into rescuing the girls from the cave because he said that would show Genieve he was a hero. Bode just couldn’t let Jake be the hero for once.

Bode broke the rules. He broke rank. It’s a good thing his mother wasn’t there because she had gotten sent home earlier. Sharon had called the kids that went into the cave stupid.

She was yelling at a hemophiliac over endangering her own life. Vince didn’t think that was professional. He sent Sharonn home. She left before she had to yell at Bode. Luckily, Eve was still around to do that. Eve has taken over as captain of Three Rock. She has a lot of rules. She didn’t want any of Manny’s mistakes to repeat and she had warned Bode once already.

Bode couldn’t be the same cavalier young man he was before. The program has changed. His family has changed. He needed to do better and he figured that out for himself after tonight. Bode didn’t find the second entrance into the cave. He did get yelled at by Eve. Jake was still the hero. He was still the prisoner.

Another hero of the night proved to be Gabriella. Gabriella used her diving skills to find the other girl in the cave. Gabriella was doing work that mattered. She was someone cool that Genieve could style herself after.

Gabriella could probably talk to Genieve about troubling mothers. Gabriella was refusing to invite her mother to her wedding. She told her dad that her mother had abandoned them.

She doesn’t like the woman or respect her. She doesn’t want her mother to be there on her special day. Not that she told her fiancée the real reason. She fed him a lie. She told him as well as his whole family that her mom was busy working out of the country. And Manny was protecting her by letting that lie stand with everyone.

Only Manny did talk to Gabriella when everything died down. He told her that her mom didn’t walk out. She was pushed out. It wasn’t easy being married to an addict. She gave Manny several chances.

He failed every one of them. He pushed his wife away. She filed for divorce after years of accepting a mere fraction from him. She wasn’t the bad guy. He was. Manny told Gabriella as much. He said he let Gabriella believe differently because it meant she went easier on him. The truth is that her mom put up with as much as she could take.

Sharon stopped by Three Rock the next day. She went to see Bode. She hugged him and she told him she loved him. He was her sole surviving child. She couldn’t stay mad at him for long. Afterwards, Sharon told Vince what she needed from him. She wants to feel loved again. The two of them went on a date. And the date was ruined when Sharon’s boy toy from her time away managed to track her down.

His name is Liam and Vince didn’t take seeing him well.

And Cara later told Bode that she’ll talk to Genieve to see if Genieve will agree to a DNA test.

THE END!
