The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that many fans grew concerned over some of the hints offered up in the January 30 episode. For starters, John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) admitted that in his first year of college, he lived with Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) and his parents.
Finn talked about how Jack Finnegan (Ted King) and Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) were often busy with their careers, but Poppy was there for him and helped him with spontaneous dance parties when he got too stressed.
Of course, Poppy’s been freaked out over the possibility of Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) learning who her dad is.
Luna thinks Poppy’s treating this like some awful family secret, so she’s struggling to make sense of the situation.
Finn did mention that Poppy lived with them about a year before Luna was born, so it’s easy to see why some fans jumped to the horrifying conclusion that Finn could be Luna’s bio dad.
Anything’s possible on a soap, but there are good reasons to think B&B won’t actually go there. Let’s really think about the details of all this for a moment.
Poppy presumably watched Finn grow up, so it’s disgusting to think of her sleeping with her adoptive nephew who was fresh out of high school. Blood or not, they’re family!
Plus, Finn doesn’t behave like someone who hooked up with his aunt and has something to hide.
Finn cheerfully greeted her as “Aunt Poppy” and seemed genuinely surprised over her just bolting one day.
If Finn and Poppy slept together, there would surely be more awkwardness now – and there would be no doubt in Finn’s mind about why she wanted to create distance.
Finn doesn’t treat Poppy like a former lover at all; there’s nothing beyond a typical aunt-nephew vibe here, so it’s just tough to buy that they ever hit the sheets.
Poppy also told Luna that she was made from love, which would be a weird way to characterize taking your barely legal nephew to bed once upon a time.
We’d like to think Poppy would view that as a mistake if it happened that way.
However, it’s possible the show’s creating another red herring that could lead to the big reveal.
What if Luna once again puts the wrong clues together and demands to know if Finn is her biological father?
Perhaps Li could overhear that accusation and blow her top! It might force Poppy to confess the slightly less scandalous albeit still terrible truth that Jack is Luna’s bio dad instead.
After all, Poppy lived with Jack too, so it seems likely she had an affair with him that Finn doesn’t have a clue about.
