The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) has been trying to make sense of her newfound place within the Newman family, so that resulted in a fascinating dream where “Eve” was loved and accepted as a Newman from birth.
Claire was the center of attention in Y&R’s March 20 episode, which brought a birthday bash and plenty of compliments from the family she was never stolen from – at least in this fantasy.
However, Claire had two naysayers who turned parts of that dream into a nightmare. Jordan (Colleen Zenk) was there to torment Claire as usual, but Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) also took a moment to warn Claire about her true colors.
“You know, the rest of them, they see the happy, sweet, smiling Eve. But I see past all that,” Adam said.
“And if you were ever to let that out, this town wouldn’t stand a chance. You’d be a force to be reckoned with,” Adam insisted.
Was that the show’s way of foreshadowing Claire’s sinister turn?
Claire’s sudden turnaround seems a little too good to be true, so maybe Adam is right about her posing a threat.
Of course, Claire has no reason to turn against the Newmans or do anything damaging when most of them are welcoming her with open arms.
Things may not be as rosy in real life as they were in Claire’s “Eve” dream, but she’s still getting plenty of support from key Newman family members like Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
With all this in mind, perhaps we should consider the one thing that might truly drive Claire off the rails again. What if Claire isn’t a Newman after all?
That DNA test always seemed a bit iffy since Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) collected a sample from the lake house instead of just getting one directly from Claire.
It’s worth mentioning that Claire brushed Nikki’s hair while they were both there – and Nikki’s DNA would be a match for Victoria’s.
Cole claimed he was a biological match too, but how does anyone know if he was telling the truth?
We have to acknowledge the possibility of DNA test tampering or even a simple lab mistake.
There are ways to undo Claire as a Newman if that’s the route the writers want to take here.
Regardless, it’d be interesting to see how Claire would react if she got updates on her non-Newman status.
If Jordan stole the wrong baby somehow, Claire could face another life-changing revelation.
Naturally, Victoria and Cole have grown attached to Claire by now, so they might try to tell her that she’s their daughter no matter what biology says.
Claire might disagree and revert to her most dangerous side – proving dream Adam was right about her being a force to be reckoned with!
