In tonight’s America’s Got Talent episode, up first tonight was Julia and Dimitro. They were a couple. They’re parents of two girls. The girls were huge fans of AGT and a big push for them to join this season. The parents also got to live out their dream tonight by going onstage. They were aerialists. They were some of the sexiest aerialists ever because the show they put on tonight was steamy. It wasn’t just because their performance was mostly done in the rain. They also upped the ante to the pointe of dangerously entertaining and that’s what Season 20 should be. Their performance was loved by all. They got a standing ovation at the end. It was a great way to kick off the night. And the four yesses was merely the cherry on top.
Next up was Osaka Philharmonic. They inhabited the true spirit of the Samurai. They threatened to break up if they didn’t make it into the next round and that put a lot of pressure on the judges. They thought this would be a classical musical group. They were wrong because it turns out they were using actual harmonicas. They were singing under the threat of having some freeze-died touched their nipples. It was all male group and everyone could literally feel the freeze coming off that thing. They used. Who even knows how they came up with that concept for themselves?
They came out with suits. They seemed so serious. Plus, the samurai comment was something their interpreter said for them. It was pure stupidity. It was no surprise that Mel Be gave them a reject. She later took it back because she wanted to see Simon’s get his nipples frozen. He agreed to become a member of the band. It was the one highlight because Sofia thought it was stupid too. It would have been okay if the band broke up after this. Not that they needed to because tonight they got four yesses from judges that loved laughing at Simon.
Next up was Charity Lockhart. She was a singer. She has two kids. They lived in a car after a divorce. It was hard for a while and kids always encouraged her to pursue her dream. She was doing so now at nearly fifty because now was the time. She didn’t need safety. She was a singer. She was a great singer. She started singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and mostly everyone loved it. Simon was the one holdout. He was considered the singing expert only him stopping her mid-performance to tell her it wasn’t doing it for him was unnecessary.
Simon wasn’t all bad. He offered Charity a second chance. Something he doesn’t offer everyone. He asked her to perform another song and she luckily had a backup one. She next performed “Golden Slumbers”. She really knocked it out of the park with that performance. She was so great that she received the Golden Buzzer from Mel B. Simon wasn’t mad at it. He gave Charity another chance because he does like her as a person and she can sing. She just needed to pour her heart out into the song. And she did that with the second one.
There was a weird one next. Naturally, there has to be one guy that wants to do something “different”. His name is Bob. Or Spaceman Bob as he calls himself. Bob’s entire act started off as a mystery. He didn’t really talk about it. He came out with two giant props and the props were cutouts of aliens. He was a performer. It wasn’t singing. It wasn’t rapping. It was more like DJ. He just wasn’t mixing music nor did three out four judges wanted to waste time listening to him. They quickly pressed the reject button. Simon was the sole holdout.
Howie said Spaceman Bob was someone hired by a parent of a kid with no friends. They called in Bob to make it fun for their seven year old and tonight that seven year old happened to be Simon. There was also one act that didn’t even make it to the stage. This guy brought along his robot. The robot ran out of juice before they could go onstage and that was it. There was no act without his partner. It’s sad it came to an end before it could begin. No one knew how long a robot needed to be charged so perhaps next season will be better for that duo.
Next up was a dance group. They were a futuristic dance group. They didn’t come out with a story. They didn’t tell anyone the name of the group. They just came out and started lining up to dance. They were great dancers. They put on an amazing show. They let their art doing most of their talking and it was good. It wasn’t good enough for Mel. Mel found it lacking. Simon disagreed. The same for Sofia. Sofia really loved this performance. Howie agreed with Mel and, while the overhead camera looked great, it didn’t appear great for them watching it live.
The group was called Urban Fury. They won the audience. The audience was prepared to fight for them. Simon as well. They got Howie to go back on his ruling and give them a yes. They got through, but Simon was still mystified that anyone would tell them no. Up next was Bejamin Hightower. He was active duty military for seven years. He got to see the world. He got to serve his country. He also got to meet some incredible people. He made the scary choice to leave and pursue his dream of singing. And that’s something he won’t regret after tonight.
Benjamin performed “Pink Pony Club”. His rendition was the perfect addition to tonight. The judges noticed he was singing to someone in particular. That person was his mom and biggest fan. The judges were his second biggest fan. They love it when someone make a popular song sound like their own music. He got four yesses. Next up was Mary and her team. She apparently brought robots as well. She brought several of them and they danced to “Don’t Stop Me Now”. They were robot dogs. They also knew how to maintain synchronization.
The robot dogs also were pretty friendly. They shook hands with Terry. They wanted to keep dancing. It truly was something AGT has never seen before and so the robot dogs get to dance another day. It was still a little creepy because all robots are a little creepy. It was also innovative. It wasn’t something anyone has ever seen before and now all robot acts have to up their ante. After them, it was Cyril Takayama. He was a magician. The first magical act of the night and it included Howie.
Howie loved to be included in magic. Many loved Cyril tonight. It was the judges that were split. Simon pressed the reject button first. Mel pressed it second. It was too boring at first. They felt the showmanship was lacking. It didn’t matter that he pulled off impressive magic if the presentation was found lacking. Mel and Simon both gave a no then Mel looked back at her daughter. Her daughter enjoyed the performance. Mel went back on her ruling. She gave a yes. And Cyril will be going to the next round.
Maceo Harrison was the most excited of the night. He went next. He came with such energy. He believed positive energy, positive life. He was finally going after his dream tonight when he danced. He wasn’t singing. He was lip synching to “Wrecking Ball” and dancing. He danced the whole arena. He also made people laugh because he was funny. He did so much in thirty seconds that he left people wanting more. Maceo got four yesses and even a chance to do more dancing that night because Sofia really wanted to see more of him.
Last up of the night was Leo High School Choir. Leo Catholic High School was an all boys school. They performed “Born For This”. They were wonderful. These kids were so wonderful and they got the crowd excited. They got everyone interested in their story. Mel loved it so much that it felt like their original song. Their choreography was powerful and not over or underwhelming in the slightest. It was just perfect. It won them four yesses.
THE END!
