On tonight’s America’s Got Talent episode, up first tonight was Anna. She was a part of Deadly Games. They were a daredevil act. It was a husband and wife team. They’ve since split up both professionally as well as personally. Anna was now back by herself to see if she could still perform like before. She kinda stopped performing after the split. She took a break from the stage. She focused on paying the bills and raising her daughter. She was doing what she could to get by, but she has a talent. She wanted to see if she could make a living out of something she loves. She also wanted to show her daughter her strength.

It’s not easy starting over again after a split. Especially not when they did everything together. She now wanted to show her daughter that she could start over and lead an all female team. She pulled off some daring acts tonight. She had people genuinely scared she was going to kill her assistant. Mel B later said she was the ultimate girl power and the Spice Girl would know. Simon also wanted to take part. He wanted Anna to shoot an arrow at him. He’s lucky she’s a great shot or he might have gotten skewered tonight.

Anna naturally got four yesses after a stellar performance. She was tough to follow. Still, Bay Melnick Virgolino was so adorable that he wasn’t going to let anything daunt him. He was ten years old. He was from NYC. He brought along a guitar. He said he asked for lessons after becoming a huge Slash fan at age five. What no one was expecting was this little boy being fully ready to rock out. He performed “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz. He didn’t just play guitar. He also sang and gave a little miniature concert.

Bay has a great name to make a great talent. He easily got four yesses. He’s also probably going to go viral after tonight. Next up was Travis Horn. He described his act as his own version of “the Greatest Showman”. It was stupid. It was nothing like the movie. Travis looked great without his shirt and that was it. The judges all hated it. Three out of the four pressed their reject button. Mel didn’t because she thought he’d eventually did something good and that just never happened. It wasn’t an act at all. And he won’t be advancing.

Mike Munz was soon up. His inner child healed some when he got onstage. He grew up shy. He wasn’t shy anymore. Not after he ditched the t-shirt to show off a muscle physique. He looks great. His act just wasn’t really an act either. He rearranged his muscles in time with music. It was unusual. It wasn’t something they’ve ever seen before and so the judges let it passed through. They gave him the yesses he needed. This was inspite them knowing that there was no future in this. The upside so far no was no one brought out the Guiness World Records Guy.

The night was young though. There were still a few surprises. Like Austin coming back. His story was that he was in a group and realized he wanted to be a solo artist. He actually performed earlier this season. He made the mistake in his song choice. He got turned down because of it and so he asked for a second chance. He wanted to come back with a different song. They didn’t have time for it that day. He still fought to come back because he said he wasn’t going home without giving his all. He performed “Somebody Believed” by Austin Brown for everyone.

He said his song last time was about impressing the judges. Tonight was about doing what felt right. He stayed true to his origins and this time he put on a performance that got the audience on their feet. He got four yesses. He was moving on to the next stage thanks to his authenticity. There were other acts like Adam the solo dancer and sadly it didn’t go anywhere because solo dancers rarely make an impact. Then there were others like Journey. Journey was ten and she was from New Orleans.

Journey seemed like she was going to be a solo dancer. It was a complete misdirection. Her fellow dancers from the EDT came out during the performance and they danced to “A.P.T”. Those girls put on a hell of a show. They were great. They looked beautiful. They impressed everyone from the audience to the judges. They got four yesses and will be back to keep dancing. They were followed by Gina Bellina and her granddaughter, Liliana. They were singers. Gina raised Liliana. She had her since she was a baby.

There was no telling what happened to Gina’s possible child or why they didn’t raise Liliana. Gina and Liliana didn’t come from a place of hurt or pain. They were so happy to be in each other’s lives. Liliana signed her grandmother up behind her back. Gina didn’t know about the audition until two days before. Which might explain her later performance. It might have been nerves or merely age was catching up to her. Gina’s voice was wobbly. Simon went as far as stop the performance midway to ask Liliana to sing instead.

It was pure gut instinct on his end.

Liliana was nervous about being put on the spot. On the other hand, she did know the music. Her grandmother writes the songs and sings them around the house. She sang to everyone. This included people at the grocery store. Liliana was embarrassed as a kid. She wasn’t embarrassed anymore. She was quite proud of her grandmother and she probably inherited Gina’s voice in its prime. Liliana sounded great. Her grandmother wasn’t even upset to have lost her shot. She was so proud that Liliana got to shine and Liliana got three yesses to advance with.

Next up was another familiar face. Yuriyan Retriever was back. She was on the show six years ago. She was another solo dancer and Simon remembered her because he buzzed her with the reject button. Yuriyan has since watched the show religiously. She wanted to know what the audience gravitates to. She found out they love animal acts. So, she came up with one. She came up with an air hamster show. It was a parody with an invisible hamster. It wasn’t funny to most of the judges. Howie liked it. No one else fully got it.

Yuriyan then ended a night of rejection by stripping down to the American bathing suit. The same one she wore when she first auditioned six years ago. She was just so silly that she still had people laughing. Soon it was time for the only choir of the night. Birmingham Youth Choir was a kids choir. They were from Birmingham, Alabama. Their choir director took a relaxed approach with these kids. It’s why they were so happy. They got to do a true tribute to “Sister Act 2”. They started with “Joyful Joyful” before moving on to a full church experience.

They were different. They were special in a way only they could be. They won the Golden Buzzer tonight after giving one of the best choir performances ever on AGT. Now, following the MVPs of the night was probably the worst thing that could happen to Gendai. Gendai just didn’t let that get in the way of having a great time. He was from Japan. He has a great disposition. He danced alone and yet he also put on a light show. Mel didn’t get it, but everyone else did and Gendai has enough yesses to carry him through to the next round.

THE END!
