In tonight’s America’s Got Talent episode, AGT does love their practical jokes. They played a somewhat depressing song for Howie. The judges all got a song introduction to the stage and his sounded like a funeral march. He didn’t know what it was. The others all laughed. Then Sofia got the chicken dance. Simon got Mariah Carey’s “Hero”. Mel B had the most normal song and she still got upset with Simon for his. She pressed all the reject buttons for him. She didn’t feel sorry either. They all laughed about that one before finally getting on with the show.

Up first was a dance group called GRV. They were from California. They came dressed as private school students with the uniforms. It was all part of their act. They put on a great show. They had the audience dancing along. It was all going great for everyone except Howie. Howie pressed his reject button for GRV. He later explained that he got bored. It was unusual for him because he tends to love dance teams and so he told them that this needed to big bigger and better than previous seasons. He didn’t feel they did that. The other judges did.

GRV still advanced thanks to the other judges. Simon earned that Mariah Carey song when he came through for those young people. Terry also did his best to cheer them up afterwards. He reminded them that Howie was a comedian. Dancing was not his field. Next up was Jessica Sanchez. She’s a singer. She actually was on the first season of AGT. She made it all the way to the semifinals when she got eliminated. Regis broke the news to her at the time and it was so good to walk down that memory because it’s always great to be reminded how kind Regis was.

Jessica fell out of love with music for a while because others weren’t as kind. They kept trying to tell her what artist to be. They didn’t just let her be and now she knows who she is. She’s in love with music again. She’s pregnant. She came back to the show and she rocked it out to “Beautiful Things” tonight. Sofia even gave her the Golden Buzzer. Jessica deserved it because her journey truly was AGT memorable. Next up was Andy Star. He was always a star in his soul and he dreams of being a superstar.

Andy was the first overall “no” tonight. He described himself as a singer and dancer. He was on rollerblades dressed as Tinkerbell. The judges hated his act. They refused to let him finish because they knew they were always going to tell him no. They also said no to the trombonist who played Shakira. Then came Anna. Anna had no idea that her mom signed her up for AGT. Her mom Kerry told her that they were going because they got a VIP experience in the audience. It wasn’t until Anna was in the audience that Kerry came out onstage and said she signed her daughter up as the next act.

Anna was so shocked. She has nothing prepared. Simon felt bad about her getting thrown into the deep end. He allowed her to audition later. Once she got her bearings. They then carried on with a dancing couple from China. They danced the ballet. Simon hates ballet. He finds it so boring. He was already turned off before they danced and there was no need because they did something interesting with “Swan Lake”. She danced it, but she danced it upon her partner’s very shoulders. She pulled off great things in the air. She and her partner displayed something that has never been seen before.

Their names was a bit lost in translation. They said it. The interpreter just didn’t repeat it in English. Nor did subtitles catch it. The one thing that was caught was that their act was called “Ballet On Shoulders”. They got their yesses and will be advancing. Anna came back after them. She chose the song “Make You Feel My Love”. She normally dedicates it to her mom and so that’s why she choosing it tonight. It merely wasn’t the right song for her. It could have been nerves. She really didn’t have time to prepare.

Simon gave her another chance with a different song. She took a second and right straight into “My Church”. She did much better with that song. Mel B still wasn’t feeling it. Both Howie and Sofia felt differently. They knew how much it took for her to come up with a song in a mere second. It goes double after Simon stopped her earlier performance. He saw potential and he still does. He gave her a yes. The same for two other judges. It was enough for her to advance. And now she has to work on winning over Mel in the upcoming weeks.

There was another act in between this one and a good one. Though he was so bad that he wasn’t worth mentioning. A notable act was Micaela and Matthias. They were a married couple. Their act was a bit aerialist and a bit trapeze artist. They also did so without the safety rope. Some have described it as similar to the “Greatest Showman” and it was the first act to ever got close. The others that self-described that way were all laughable. This one was different. It was good. It was dangerous. It was pure entertainment.

It was easy to see why they were so nervous about an accident happening. They took such risks that Micaela could truly be hurt during an act. People were genuinely on the edge of their seats out of fear and excitement while watching. The judges all loved it. Of course, they got a yes. Next up was CrashAdams. One was named Crash and the other Adam. They’ve known each other all their lives. Their parents are best friends and so they’ve grown up together in Canada. They were singers. They performed their own song, “Optimist”.

It was an instant hit. The song was already up on YouTube for those wanting to listen. The judges gave them four yesses and soon it was Sandra Risser’s turn. She was eighty-three. She retired from the corporate world to pursue comedy. She was a comedian. She wanted to be the first comedian to win AGT. She was a living example of its never too late to pursue a dream. She was also really funny. Simon didn’t get her shopping story. The others did. Sandra was advancing tonight because she was really amazing.

Next up was the BoykinZ. Their last name is Boykin. They added the Z because they were all Generation Z. They were singers. Their dream is to one day get a Grammy award. They do a little of everything. This included dancing. They performed their original song, “Fell In Love With A Cowboy”. It was a little Country and a little R&B. Plus, their routine was flawless. Their energy, their dancing, their harmony, and it was all great. They were a great girl band. Their music was up on YouTube as well for those wanting to listen.

They really got the crowd on their feet. Again, it was a no-brainer that they got a yes. They earned every bit of it and even Simon said they were going to be stars. Terry also did what the audience wanted. He delivered on a Golden Buzzer. And the sister’s happy tears was a great way to end the night.

THE END!
