In tonight’s America’s Got Talent episode, Howie had one more Golden Buzzer tonight. The others had used theirs up. It was only Howie that was left. Howie was waiting to be impressed and up first was a pair of gym bros. Their names are Darien and Scott. They met each other through social media. They’ve made videos about their strict gym routine and so they joined together to go viral. Which they did. They now want to make a career out of stunts. They just might with that career after tonight. The one issue with the act was that while it was bench pressing to the extreme what with them throwing literal hundreds if thousand of pounds at each other and over both Mel B and Sofia’s heads – it was going to be hard to top in the upcoming weeks.

The guys still got four yesses. What they didn’t get was the Golden Buzzer. They were followed by a band that would be fun in a bar and couldn’t translate to a sober judge or in this case judges. The band got turned down. Next up was Silas Luke Jones. He was from Alaska. He grew up on a ranch. He’s never been in a competition this big. He seemed sweet and he had some impressive guitar skills. He got a standing ovation afterwards. They even stood for him as he exited the stage after receiving four yesses.

Silas was followed by Unreal Crew. They were from India. They were a dance team that formed in 2018, but they’ve been practicing for AGT for the past five years. Their parents wanted them to do something else. Perhaps become doctors. They instead put a spooky angle on dancing. They did things that no one else has ever seen and it was great to watch. It was also part contortionist. It had people going “eww” in the best way possible. They got a standing ovation as well. And Howie rewarded them with the Golden Buzzer.

The remaining contestants backstage were a little disappointed. They were saddened to have lost their chance at Golden Buzzer. They can still make it to the next round. Only that buzzer offered a certain reassurance that nothing else can provide. They still went on with the show though. The act up next was Evelyn Errante. She was thirteen. She was a singer from Arizona. She dreamed of being on Broadway one day before going mainstream. She chose the song “Defying Gravity” tonight. It was a great audition. It didn’t win over. It won over just enough to get through to the next round.

Next up was Tej, Ebon, and Lars. They were from New York. They work in tech. They were always inventing something and tonight they made a drink solely by gluing parts to a helmet that they then connected. It was so stupid that Howie pressed his reject button. They made such a concoction that Simon was the only one brave enough to drink it. The other judges sure weren’t putting that in their mouths. They didn’t even know the full ingredient list. They saw strawberry and bananas. They just weren’t sure that was all of it.

Simon was the most nervous when he saw them mixing things up. He felt for sure that they were going to add in something nasty. Then they looked for volunteers to drink it. The audience encouraged Simon and so Simon chose to be brave. Sofia pressed her reject button when she saw him actually do it. There were several questions in the aftermath. What did it taste like? Did Simon regret his choice? He spat it out and Mel pressed her reject button. Simon’s button also got pressed. He took it back. Mel also took hers back as well.

Then Howie took back his reject. Sofia refused to take hers back. She also gave them a no even as everyone else gave them yesses. Simon later gargled with some Listerine. It was the brown kind. Not the spearmint flavored and so whatever was in that glass must have been nasty. He came back in time for the Jet Boys. They were a dance crew all the way from Japan. They’ve been together for two years and came to win. They threw in some singing on top of the dancing. The singing brought down the dancing aspect for Howie. He wasn’t a big fan.

Mel disagreed. Simon sort of saw Howie’s point. It could have been better. He still gave a yes and so did two others because the Jet Boys were advancing to the next round. Simon was feeling a little sick by that point. He shouldn’t have drank that concoction. The other judges were saying “I told you so” when they were joined by Dewayne Jackson. He performs as Insane Wayne. He was a comedian. He got into comedy because he was dared to do it and it wasn’t long before he had everyone laughing. He naturally advanced thanks to yesses.

Next up was Rich and Carlene. They were a lovely couple that’s been married for fifty years. They were also super fans of the show. They’ve never missed an episode. They had neighbors record it for them when they go on vacation. They were sweet, but their act wasn’t an act. They were competitive eaters. There’s something about watching people eat that’s just gross. It was so bad that it was humorous. Mel was so worried about them she pressed her reject button hoping to stop it. The couple didn’t make through and that’s okay because they still lived out their dream.

Mel was already on the next guy’s side when she heard Chris was from Manchester, England. Chris thought the time was now to audition because he just became an American citizen a few months ago. Chris was a freestyle rapper. He didn’t look it nor did people know what his version of freestyle was. It turns out Chris takes five suggestions and makes a rap song out of it. He took suggestions from the judges. He also got “quantum physics” Terry. That one was weird. Yet, somehow Chris made it all work.

Chris was talented. He was very original. Sofia couldn’t wait. She gave him his first yes. Simon, Mel, and Howie all said yes too. Chris brought an element of surprise. The next act tried to be a rapper. She wasn’t talented nor did her attempt at bribing the judges worked. There was a fashionista who thought dancing while changing wigs was an act. It wasn’t. There was a hostage scenario played out with a rescue. It all very weird. Until Alexa Morales. She took the weirdness to a new level. She was a singer/songwriter from California. She’s been singing all her life.

Alexa had some success. She won a Grammy singing salsa with others. She left the stage to come back in dressed in a fox getup where she sang in English and not for the better. Simon later said she was a were-fox that can’t sing. Then came someone dressed up as a chicken. Her act was hula hooping and she wasn’t bad at it. She was actually quite good. The chicken costume threw people. She even laid an egg at one point and she still got Simon’s approval.

The night ended on the crazy. There was no next act. No final act to return the judges’ faith in people. It ended on the Chicken Lady. Hopefully, she washed her hands after laying eggs.

THE END!
