In tonight’s America’s Got Talent episode, it was another night full of stars! Night four of the Quarterfinals kicked off with Howie getting the buzzer. It was a lot of responsibility and he had exacting standards. The first to test them was CrashAdams. The two best friends played another original song.

It wasn’t as catchy as the first one. It was still good. The judges were left split on it. Sofia loved it. Howie felt it was a bit of a downgrade from the first song. He said the auditions was “A”. The performance tonight felt like a “B”. Mel B even went more specific because she said what hurt them was the vocals. The vocals were shaky. Its what downgraded the song to good when it could have been great.

Simon agreed with her. He did it in a much nicer way. He told them he really loved that first song. Maybe they should play that again if they get through.

He would hate for them to leave after tonight. It was their first live performance on AGT and nerves could have gotten to them. Next up was Zak Mirz. He was a magician. Everyone loved his audition. It wasn’t as confusing as say Mastermind. Zak also brought such a positive energy with his act and that’s more than could be said of other magicians this season.

Zak fell in love with magic as a kid. He saw David Blane on tv and knew that’s what he wanted to do in life. It turns out David Blane saw his audition. He reached out to Zak and congratulated him on a great show.

It motivated Zak to keep going even as he had every reason to stay home. He and his wife just had a new baby girl. His family couldn’t travel with him for tonight’s show, but they were there in spirit and his drive carried the first half. The trick took longer. It was still just as great as the first.

What Zak did with his card trick was no trick. It was pure magic. The judges were blown away. If it hadn’t been the timing, Howie could easily have given him the Golden buzzer. Zak was followed by TT Boys.

They were one of the best acts of the year and Terry Crews begged everyone to not try any of what they did at home. These guys hailing all the way from Ethiopia were an acrobatic duo. Officially that it is because what they really did should have them hailed as aerialists. They flew through the air with what they did.

One of the guys was flipping the other guy into the air. It was like he didn’t have bones. It was terrifying and awesome. It was also really brave because no one else could do that job. The TT Boys were so great tonight. They really upgraded. They deserved a Golden Buzzer and so the audience as well as the judges did their best to pressure Howie into hitting the Golden Buzzer. Thay all wanted the TT Boys in the Finale. Howie wanted them yet he felt he couldn’t hit the buzzer so early into the night. He held off in spite the pressure. And Terry took enough pity on him to carry on with the show.

Cole Swensen & Judy were up next. The mother and son duo great playing together. Judy left the singing to Cole. Only don’t ignore Judy because her skills at the cello was so beautiful. She backed up her son tonight as he played “Birds Of A Feather”. It was a great performance. Howie found it creepy because he said it was a love song. He convinced Mel because she couldn’t get a mother/son thing out of her head once he said. He just couldn’t talk Sofia or Simon into its alleged creepiness. Simon loved that performance. And like Sofia said, its not like Judy was singing this a duet or being a video vixen in the background.

Next up was Mike Munz. Mike’s act was hard to describe. He was covered in muscles. There was no doubt about him being in great shape and it’s what he did with the muscles that was so confounding. He’s able to move them all around with such control to music that it’s never been done before. He had months to practice his audition. He had a mere week to practice for tonight. It showed because he didn’t really have an act. It fell flat with the male half of the audience. The women loved it and so it all comes down to who will vote.

Chuck Adams was soon up. The singer once had a record deal. It bled him dry as so many of the deals often do. Chuck took his motorcycle and he just went on the road. He ended up in a small town. He started playing gigs. He fell in love with music again. He has such a great presence. He performed “Wonderwall” tonight. It right up there with the original. It’s an amazing rendition that felt like him. The crowd got so into it that they used their lights on their cell phones to light up the auditorium. In return, he gave them a concert.

Howie was once again a Debbie downer. He felt he could have gotten more. He felt it could have been the song choice that stopped him from fully enjoying the performance and no one agreed with him this time. The other judges disagreed. They enjoyed his performance even if it wasn’t perfect. It had edge. It showed off Chuck’s voice. It made his family proud and that’s what counts. Chuck was followed by The Funkateer Dancers. These dancers and friends have been hitting the floor together since high school.

They brought back the great joy of dancing to the show. These guys inspired everyone that saw them dance. It’s why they got the Golden Buzzer from Terry to begin with. Their friendship has sustained the test of time, families, and jobs. They went out and had fun in what was one of the best acts that Simon has seen all night. It was not enough to move Howie, though. Howie really was such a downer. He was holding onto that Golden Buzzer for dear life. The friends were followed by another quartet, The BoykinZ.

The BoykinZ were a group of sisters that put their country spin on everything. They had everyone fall in love with their original song during the auditions. They came back with another original song tonight. It had an added element of rap. There was also a lot of R&B influences. It was the lyrics themselves that were the country spin. It wasn’t as great as their audition. They didn’t harmonize as much and Mel said that was their strength. Still, there was special about them and everyone was hoping they’d make it through to the next round.

Now, there were three acts left. The first of the three was Gendai. The dancer brought an element of light to his performance. The way he’s able to dance in tune with the light show behind him was great. It’s rare that a solo dancer makes it this far. He did because he does have a great skill. Only it was a two minute act. He couldn’t turn this into a live show or any kind of show that takes longer than ten minutes. Or at least that’s how Mel and Sofia felt. The guys were kinder and that was a rare thing from Howie tonight.

Gendai was followed by Team Recycled. The dance crew came back to prove Mel wrong when she called them boring. The group started in Germany and its members are from all over the world. They also stepped up in such a big way. They used the whole studio. They took Howie and Mel both by surprise. They did more than earn their Golden Buzzer. Howie finally gave it to someone. Howie really loved this act and it was going to be hard to top, but the next and final act of the night was Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir.

They were Simon’s Golden Buzzer. They were of course a choir. The choir was created to give kids a refuge and it was that and more. They performed “Praise You” like no one else can. They also brought along their cannon confetti. It was a feel good moment. Sofia was absolutely right when she said that. Mel said they took her to church. If Howie still had the Golden Buzzer, he’d hand it to them right then. And Simon was just proud so proud of them.

THE END!
