The Results are in! This group of eleven acts are taken down to five before ending up at three. They all put on a great show yesterday and tonight wasn’t the end of the road for any of them.
Howie has already given the Golden Buzzer to Team Recycled. They were going to the Finals! The first question of the night was who will be joining them? The second one was where was Howie? Howie suffered from a loss in the family. He wasn’t going to be here to hear the results, but thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.
With the remaining three judges in place, they watched on as the results were mixed in with live performances. The first round was between Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir and The Funkateer Dancers. The audience feared a tough round with this one because both acts were so loved. Only the show had a little surprise. It turns out both acts of the first round made it into the top five and that was great while also posing a problem. It meant another round would have both acts from said round not make into the Semifinals.
Quick note for those watching at home. If they love the music from the show, they can now access AGT Music Room to hear more from the artists they’ve come to love. Now back to the results. Gendai vs Mike Munz. It was revealed that neither of them will be going to the Semifinals. It was a hard blow for the both of them. This is why they typically pair a winner with someone else. That way there’s good and bad news given at the same time. Gendai’s English wasn’t great so that bad news had to be translated before he fully got it. And the women in the audience couldn’t push Mike through into the next round on their own.
The next round was between Zak Mirz and Cole Swensen & Judy. This one was a no-brainer. Howie wasn’t alone in getting freaked out by the mother and son act. They sounded great together. Their music remains beautiful. It was just that the son sang a love song. He also kept looking at his mom during the song. It wasn’t for everyone. It was for those that really love their moms. Cole and Judy were naturally eliminated during this round. Zak made it into the top five. His magic will get to live on.
The next round was between Chuck Adam and the BoykinZ. Both were singing acts. They both were loved by the audience and criticized by the judges. The BoykinZ were critized for moving away from their strength in harmonizing. Chuck was criticized for his voice not fully carrying the song or so they said. Which could have been nerves in both cases. It all comes down to song selection with these acts and both of them will know differently in the future. Chuck won this round and he made it into the top five.
There was a guest performance from Le Sserafim tonight as well. The K-Pop group performed several of their hit songs. They really got the audience going. It was a nice break from all the heartache because there was one round left. The final round for the top five was between Crash Adams and the TT Boys.
Many (including a certain recapper) felt the TT Boys rightfully should have gotten the Golden Buzzer yesterday. There was no one that can match them in entertainment value or danger. They deserved to be fast-tracked to the Finals.
The only reason Howie didn’t give it to them because he thought it was too early on in the show. They were the third performance of the night and he hadn’t seen half the acts yet. He held off before he ultimately gave it to Team Recycled. They were amazing too.
There simply wasn’t a chance of them coming to harm for their act like it was for the TT Boys. Plus, the TT Boys put on more of a show. They were ready for Las Vegas. It may seem like the TT Boys would win this round without question only Crash Adams couldn’t be ignored.
They served original music. They had a huge following on social media. It was great seeing them. But things didn’t go as planned for them as it did for the TT Boys yesterday.
The TT Boys made it into the top five and they were later told they made it into the Semifinals. The next act voted in was Zak Mirz. His magic really will live on. And the final act going through to the next round was the Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir who sang beautifully.
Everyone worked hard and the Semifinals were going to be stiff competition.
THE END!
