On tonight’s Match Me Abroad episode, Sarah agreed to a second date with EJ. EJ was exactly her type. He was both successful and a gentleman. He also brought gifts. He got her a designer keychain. Only EJ had some bad news tonight. He was leaving for an overseas bodybuilding competition.
He won’t get back until the day before she leaves and so Sarah was naturally upset by that. The two have been talking nonstop since their first date. She felt they had a connection. It sucks that they won’t have time to fully pursue it. She respects him at the same time because he did build a career and he was maintaining it despite having ever reason to ditch this year.
It just didn’t stop hurting though. She wanted to know where she stood with him. She was worried he thought it was fun and games while she was slowly falling for him.
He was everything she wanted. She also heard that she wasn’t the type for a lot of guys in Singapore. Which wasn’t the case with EJ. He loved her look. He reassured her how beautiful she was. He was hoping to stay in touch. The ball was really in Sarah’s court because she might want to pursue other options when he’s away. The matchmakers were constantly talking about pursuing their options.
Most of them were only in a foreign country for a short time. It’s why Harrold was sticking it out with his Amber. Yes, he was attracted to her. He thought they had a great vibe.
The problem was that she was never entirely honest with him. She’d have conversations with him and say everything was fine only to then express her concerns to Dolly the matchmaker. She did that when he told her he was on the spectrum. She did that when she brought up sex and he merely continued the conversation.
Amber has also put him in an uncomfortable situation tonight. She introduced him to a loved one. She knew he was going to get grilled and she didn’t say anything. Girl, he’s on the spectrum.
He told her that he struggles in group settings. The last thing he needed was a fierce grilling when he couldn’t prepare beforehand. He ended up feeling like he was saying all the wrong things with Jo. Jo thought he was a serial killer. She mocked him for having a checklist. She demanded to know what happened in Prague with the other girl. And she never let him finish a sentence.
Sometimes one has to know when to cut their losses. Luiza should remember that one with Tony. She set Tony up on one more date. She introduced him to Thais. Thais was beautiful and artistic. She also matched with Tony because both have high standards. Their date took them to Batman Alley.
They got to partake in graffiti art. Tony was attracted to Thais. So much so that he didn’t notice she didn’t have long hair at first. The first red flag of the date was the topic of dogs. She has two dogs that she loves. Tony once described that sorta relationship as a mental illness.
Thais picked up on the negative energy when she said her dogs were her babies. Things went downhill when he asked her what she was looking for. She mentioned she used to date guys with more hair and the very bald Tony got so annoyed by that he told her he doesn’t date flashy women.
How is she flashy you might ask? She has a diamond in her tooth. She didn’t immediately showed it off to him. She didn’t bring it up. He claimed that was flashy and that he couldn’t pay attention to anything else she said because the diamond kept catching his eye. This date was a dud.
Drop him, Luiza!
Over in Ireland, the American Amber slept with Keavan. Keavan was a great guy. He just had no direction. He had so many things wrong that Amber considered dropping him from each reason.
He still lives with his parents. He wasn’t great at communication. The last and most important bit was that he couldn’t picture his future in ten years. Amber was hoping to be married with kids by then. Keavan was all about living in the moment. Amber wasn’t that girl at all. She liked Glenn because he does make plans. He does stay in communication.
Glenn lived on his own. He had a career. Has Amber even heard about Keavan’s career? She was told by the matchmaker that he was a hard worker and yet he couldn’t live by himself?
Nor did he tell her about his parents because who knows they might need him at home. There could be a justifiable reason that Keavan just never mentioned. It took him forever to open up to Amber. He only started doing so tonight and it’s been weeks. They don’t have all the time in the world to see where things go. It’s great that he was finally opening up because Amber can’t seem to quit him.
Back in Singapore, the grilling kept getting worse. Harrold was openly mocked at one point. He was mocked for having a checklist and that Amber was the list because he thought she was great.
Jo was surprised the two of them have already kissed on the lips. It happened by accident but still counts. Harrold wasn’t alone in meeting the backup. Sarah introduced her mom to EJ. Kitty really liked him. EJ even won brownie points when he ultimately decided not to leave for his competition. He wants to pursue things with Sarah. There’ll always be another competition. This was his one chance to get to know Sarah fully.
And Luiza finally had enough when she heard about the date. She dropped Tony as a client. He was a walking red flag and no matter what she did to try and civilize him – it wasn’t enough. He treated her like a dating app. He wasn’t serious about finding love.
THE END!
