Eerie Plains in Central Australia was the UFO hotspot of the country. What drew NCIS to the place was a missing pilot. Her name is US Air Force Radar Imaging Officer Amy Hale. She wasn’t another UFO seeker nor was her partner. They were traveling together across country together when they saw a woman in the road. They almost rammed her because she took them by surprise. The woman was still swiped by the car and the car itself crashed. Amy stayed with the woman. Her partner went to go get help because he noticed an unidentified flying object that was tracking them.

By time the partner came back, both women were gone. NCIS got called in. Mackey and her team showed up. They found the area where the women went missing now crawling with tourists. There were always tourists there looking for UFOs. There was only one roadhouse nearby. They took a photo of everyone’s ID when they checked in and so Mackey had the partner look through it to see if he saw the woman in the road. He did. Her name is Elke Johasson. She was a Swedish national. She was backpacking through the area.

It was quite dangerous. Doubly so alone. There were still a lot of people that do it in spite of the risks. Elke was one of them. NCIS later found out that she and Amy were able to get a call out before they were forced to flee. Flee from what? Well, the answer might be aliens. There have been several witnesses that see the same three lights in the sky. This goes for Amy’s partner as well. Welsey Chilton was more than just her partner. He was also her boyfriend. The two have been dating for a while and Wesley intended to ask her to marry him. He got the ring and everything.

They were pilots. They spent most of the time up in the sky. Wesley heard about a meteor shower and he wanted to propose under it. He thought it would be nice for Amy. He just didn’t know she put in for a transfer. The NCIS didn’t tell him about it because they didn’t want to hurt him. They learned early on that a bunch of women have gone missing from the area. They were all tourists. The local cop wasn’t worried. Constable Karl Drysdale claimed that most of them had gone overseas. This included one guy’s girlfriend named Lucy.

Lucy disappeared right after they saw those three lights in the sky. Her boyfriend stayed on in town. Karl was dismissive of her case as well. He said she was last seen in Peth. She disappeared from there. She most likely ditched the boyfriend when she ran into real trouble. Or at least that was Karl’s theory. Karl said most of the missing have showed up. He didn’t check all of them so he couldn’t say for certain that all of them were in fact missing. Karl mocked the Lucy story. He mocked all the stories.

It doesn’t stop him from grabbing a beer at the roadhouse. He takes the Buzz Aldrin seat. The same seat he mocks as being a fake. Yet, he sat there each time to grab a beer. NCIS didn’t care about the other mysteries. They cared about finding the two women. They went looking for them. DeShawn and Evie took ATVs out into the desert. They tried to follow the women’s footprints. It was clear they started walking and then they tried running. They were heading south when Amy managed to get that call for help in.

There was a sandstorm. It destroyed the footprints. It also caused the searchers to lose their map as well as waste their last bit of water. They were going to stick out the night in the desert where it apparently gets super cold at night. DeShawn was complaining about the extreme temperatures when they heard coyotes. They were doing their best to scare them off when they started to find remains at the nearby cave. There were remains of several women. One of them was even Lucy. She never made it to Perth so why was she last seen there?

The bodies were cut up with a bone saw. Lucy’s boyfriend was a hunter. They searched his workshop and they found a bloody bone saw. He claimed he had never seen that before. Wesley also heard they were questioning the guy. He attacked the hunter and JD broke it up. JD also arrested the boyfriend. He was bringing him to the station when Mackey still had questions. Mackey kept digging into the other missing on the board at the roadhouse. The ones that were actually missing were all blonde women.

Unless aliens prefers blondes, they were looking for a man with a type. There was another missing woman on the board that wasn’t in the case files that Blue looked into. Blue hasn’t been hired back. She was just helping as a supposed favor to Trigger. She even found out that a fifth woman went missing from a small town that Karl just happened to mention he’s from. Their serial killer was Karl. It’s always been Karl. Karl has a transmitter extender in his work vehicle and that’s how Amy’s call was sent. He had been nearby.

Karl’s favorite seat at the roadhouse was right in front of the wall of the missing. It was his trophy wall. He put the fifth woman up there without anyone noticing. He went in everyday looking for fresh victims. Karl prefers blondes and that was a problem for Amy the brunette. It was also a problem for JD who took his prisoner to Karl’s office alone. Thankfully, his team pursued him when their calls kept getting dropped. JD didn’t need them though. He managed just fine. He found the serial killer den that Karl had.

It was underground.

He found Karl trying to dye Amy’s hair to blonde. It really was an obsession for his by this point that the victims be blonde. He was so busy doing this that he never heard JD sneak up on him. There were some explosives down there so JD couldn’t shoot him. He could on the other hand have a knife fight with him. JD won with a little help from Amy who escaped her restraints. She helped blind Karl in one eye. JD then arrested him and that’s when his team showed up. They managed to save Elke and Amy. Amy soon became the owner of a beautiful ring.

They were taking the next flight out of there with only JD still awake. He saw the three floating lights from the window. The same lights that they never did explain. JD suspected it could be aliens. And what does he do?

He closed the blinds and he mentioned this to no one.

THE END
