In tonight’s Sheriff Country episode, Boone finally took the step with Nora. They started a romantic relationship. They were enjoying a serene date by the lake when they overheard gunshots nearby and Boone grabbed his weapon to go check it out. There was a couple of legal weed growers that got robbed. They were moving their cash to pay their taxes.
The growers still needed to pay taxes like everyone else. It’s just that in their case there was no bank willing to extend them credit. They therefore have to pay their taxes all in cash. It set off a rise in paying for armed security. It also set off a trend of robberies and that’s what happened here.
They were heavily armed. They were still overwhelmed by suppressing fire. They left a bodyguard dead and another fighting for his life at the start of tonight. Mickey was quickly called to the scene.
She suspected that these people weren’t done. Boone ended up agreeing with her because people don’t leave the casino when they’re up. They made off with two hundred grand in all cash. They were going to hit the other transports. It was tax season. There was going to be millions being moved all up and down the back roads.
The state legalized cannabis. The federal government hasn’t yet. Still, there were people like the Millers that want to do things the right away. They didn’t want to be outlaws like Jay Miller’s father.
They played by the rules. They get a license to grow their supply. They pay their taxes or at least tried to do so before they got robbed but the government doesn’t care. They want their money. They were threatening to pull the growing license if they didn’t get it. Mickey’s father heard about what happened. And he went to his daughter’s office.
There was no using having a daughter as sheriff if he couldn’t demand answers. There were a bunch of growers scared in the lobby of Mickey’s station. They wanted to know if it was safe. They heard about the second robbery. There was a second convoy that got hit moving their tax money. Mickey’s theory proved true.
These people were trying to do everything right. The second convoy didn’t even hire bodyguards. They took off on the spur of the moment without telling anyone and still got hit. Mickey came up with another theory about why.
She thought maybe there were trackers under the cars. That way the thieves didn’t need to be told about movements. They initially thought one of the bodyguards had betrayed his employers.
Only he hadn’t. His brother being recently released from prison had nothing to do with it. He also hadn’t fired his weapon because he froze. Its also why he washed out of the police academy. Mickey remembered he washed out on the weapons training. He froze then. He was still freezing now. He later admitted he actually dropped his gun during the robbery.
Here’s another thing. He was still with the deputies when the second convoy got hit. He was cleared and they soon found the tracker in the first victims’ car. It was hidden in the car seat.
The second set of victims also have young children. They all share the same babysitter. Her name is Grace. She frequently works the mountain. She was friends with these people. She claimed she could never hurt them. She simply made the mistake of dating the wrong guy. She started dating Daniel Weiss a few weeks ago.
She sometimes met up with him at the park with a few of the kids she babysits. The Sherrif asked her to prove she wasn’t responsible. She had to help them arrest Danny and she did.
Unfortunately, they underestimated Grace. She did what they told her to and then she escaped. She planned everything. She put the trackers in the baby seats. It was all her idea from the start and Danny confessed when he was caught. Neither he nor his boys had the money they stole. Grace had the money. She tried fleeing with said money.
Not until she was on the road. It had looked like she was going to get away. She just didn’t count on Mickey. Mickey put a tracker in Grace’s bag because she knew for a fact that people without kids don’t know anything about car seats. It takes experience to know better.
Everyone caught up with Grace before she could fully leave Edgewater. She was arrested. They got the money back and Wes passed the hat with some illegal growers to help the Millers with their medical bills. They were able to pay taxes. And will be able to keep their license thanks to Mickey and Wes.
Mickey also was forced to apologize to a few people. She apologized for favoring Cass. She even apologized to Sharon her sister because Sharon told her to date the deputy that was interested and Mickey said why don’t you date him. Sharon was still freshly widowed. It hurt to be reminded she was now single. So, Mickey apologized and Sharon forgave.
Boone soon realized he had to lie to Nora about the job because she wasn’t ready dating a deputy again.
And her father created somewhat of a cartel of both legal as well as illegal growers so that they protect each other even as they became outlaws – he broke his promise to his girls when doing so.
THE END!
