In tonight’s Sister Wives episode, the “Sister Wives” One On One continued tonight. The majority of the ex-wives weren’t interested in being friends with Kody. Not after their divorce. Not after he claimed he never loved any of the exes. Kody used to be the most selfish person in the marriage and the best example of it would be the luggage rack.

Kody would always put his own luggage on the rack. He left Janelle and Christine’s luggage on the floor. They had to somehow get upstairs on their own. Meri wouldn’t reveal if she ever got the rack. Robyn openly admitted that she got the rack.

Meri thought the conversation was petty. Christine said that it shows that Kody was unfair in his treatment of them. Janelle agreed with that assessment because Kody prioritized looks.

Take camping. Christine and Janelle would be busting their butts cooking and cleaning just to have Kody praise Robyn for doing her makeup. Robyn would also make sure the kids were presentable. Those were the things that Kody found worthwhile. He didn’t care about the other wives. He didn’t care that they were working to make the trip special.

Or so they say. Kody has a different opinion about what happened. Robyn claimed she helped out. They both felt that Christine and Janelle got meaner once they left Kody. Kody even went as far to say that he badmouths them now because he was fighting back. They said a lot of stuff. Meri wasn’t one of them.

Meri doesn’t want to get involved. She left. She was happier now. She has a strong support base around her. She wants to detangle herself financially from Kody and just move on with her life.

It’s why she was Kody’s favorite ex-wife. Kody has more respect for her now than when they were married. He didn’t respect his first three wives throughout their marriages.

He didn’t respect them as wives or as mothers. Christine getting away was the best thing for her because now she has David. David has a sister that escaped polygamy. He knew that often the husband instigated issues between the wives to keep them under control. David was actually afraid to date Christine at first. He was worried she might still be traumatized and luckily their connection was strong enough to help her heal.

Christine later spoke about the first time she met Kody. It was funnily enough exactly like how he saw Robyn for the first time. He saw both of them first in church. He locked eyes with them.

He told both of them that he felt a jolt of lightning. They felt the same. He took that back with Christine after she left, but he still said that of Robyn. Robyn was always different. He was married when he met her. Polygamists usually don’t have a long courtship with someone about to be a fourth wife. It was one thing if it was with the first wife. The fourth wife tends to join the family much sooner.

Kody courted Robyn for a year. He didn’t do that with either Janelle or Christine. He said that marrying them was the pragmatic choice. He said that Meri was different in that it was a meet-cute. He wouldn’t just say cute. It had to be meet-cute. It was as if he said they didn’t really know each other.

He may not have known Meri all that well only he couldn’t say she didn’t know him. Meri met him when she was eighteen. He was her first serious boyfriend. She was shy and quiet. She often let him do much of the talking. And she would simply listen him talking to others.

The old Meri never believed someone as great as him would like her much less marry her. She worshipped him back then. She was so in love with him and he made her feel safe.

It’s been a long time since he’s been that safe place for her. It also hurts when he said he never felt safe with anyone other than Robyn. Kody broke his moral code when he slept with someone in college. He was supposed to save himself for marriage and he was so ashamed he didn’t tell anyone until Meri after they were married. And he never told Janelle and Christine.

Kody told Robyn this the first month after they met. After he watched the old clip of that, Kody apologized for what he said when he claimed he never loved any of his exes. He did love them. He genuinely forgot how intimate he was with Meri in the beginning and he said she was a safe place for him. He claims their marriage died from a thousand paper cuts. Meri meanwhile was shocked to hear that he forgot how close they were. She found that very interesting. She wouldn’t say anything more. The same goes for Kody on his “Mormon Naughtiness”.

Kody thought Suki was implying things about his sexuality. He shut down that conversation real quick. She was joking with him. It’s unclear if she was doing what he accused of her doing.

The one clear thing was that Kody felt differently about Robyn right away. They courted for a year. Janelle might not have married him if she had gotten a full year of courtship. Kody also got intimate with her fairly fast. He told her everything about himself. They said they kissed the first time on the day they got engaged.

Christine used to wonder if he slept with Robyn before their engagement. Robyn denied that. Kody wouldn’t talk about his sex life or lack thereof. Robyn said that they did everything by the book.

She doesn’t know what Christine was talking about. Kody and Robyn hate how his exes talk about them. She and Kody also have an agreement in place now. They said if they ever broke up that they wouldn’t talk about the other. Kody hates his current relationships with his exes to the point that he never wants to be a polygamist ever again.

Kody was happy with monogamy. Christine was happy with monogamy. Even Meri said she was a monogamist now. Janelle was an “earth momma” and she might be up for anything.

Christine wants to introduce Janelle to a dating website that David used. It’s for farmers. Janelle loves to farm. She might meet the right guy that way, but Janelle might not do it because she hates those dating apps. She wants to meet someone the old-fashioned way. She wants to meet them in person. Meri should also get out to meet people.

Meri hasn’t dated anyone in a long time. Her best friend was willing to buy her boxes of protection to get her back in the saddle. It was Meri that was hesitant. She left polygamy. She left Kody. She just didn’t know how to be single again. The last time she was single was when she was a mere kid. Robyn misses polygamy. She was willing to go back to it as long as there were some guarantees. And life doesn’t offer that nor does Kody.

Kody was done with polygamy.

THE END!
