Sergeant Tim Bradford received a weird message. Someone wanted him to know about a website on the dark web. The website was connecting people with hitmen. The person that found the site wanted Tim to know about it. They just didn’t want him to know who they were or let Tim hear their real voice. They said in their message that this was their one good deed for their lifetime. Tim wanted to pursue the lead. He called the FBI. They sent Laura. She was their top profiler. Tim also received help from Nolan.

Nolan was supposed to be attending Detective Nyla Harper’s meeting. She asked cops to show up and discuss police reform, but then no one showed. Nolan and Tim were off on a case. Anegla had to join them. Celina and Lucy ended up finding a case of their own. The one person that could assist Harper was the new rookie, Miles. Miles had suggestions. He thought that the training videos showed at the academy should be updated. Tim put him on that and Miles wasn’t wrong. The things showed in those training videos weren’t just outdated. They were dangerous.

Officer Rich Rowley’s videos are so old that the star of the videos was in fact dead now. The city shows them to rookies so that they could claim they were trained when they later get sued. Not if. When! The city has other ways of training officers. They rely on the training officers. Nolan had proved that wasn’t always reliable either. He had a rookie a few weeks back that was about to become a real cop and he hadn’t been trained in the slightest. He actually should have washed out of the program.

The rookie’s original training officer was about to retire. He didn’t want a dud to be his final moment on the job. He was going to let an untrained rookie out on the street just so that he wouldn’t be inconvenienced. He could have killed people. He almost killed Nolan. Its why cops are fighting for change and Miles was one of them. Tim was off chasing the hitman from the site. They identified one hitman and had tried to arrest him when they found him murdered in his apartment. Someone was cleaning up shop.

The hitmen were dying. They were being hunted down and killed. The only people that weren’t being killed was the ones that someone wanted to die. The cops were dealing with that while Celina and Lucy were helping Taylor. They met Taylor outside of Heather Marie’s office. Heather was a podcaster that was doing a show about Celina’s sister’s murder. How she was killed by a cop. Celina became a cop herself to get justice. And that the case was eventually solved after almost twenty years.

It was a compelling story. Celina just didn’t want a podcaster telling it. She told off Heather. She stopped the podcaster from interviewing her mother and that’s when she ran into Taylor. Taylor’s sister was missing. Her name was Aria. She was pregnant. She’s been missing for two weeks and her due date was the week before. Taylor was worried when she couldn’t get into contact with Aria. She reported her missing. Her sister was an adult and so the police didn’t pursue it. Taylor then turned to Heather hoping to get Aria in the media.

Heather was turning her down until the police got involved. The podcaster heard that Celina was now helping Taylor and so that made the story interesting. Only the cops warned Taylor that media intrusion could do more harm than help at this stage of the investigation. It also didn’t help that Taylor hadnt told them everything. Her sister Aria was considered a genius for skipping a grade. Their parents put a lot of pressure on her and they were furious when she got pregnant. They didn’t want her to keep it.

Aria was only twenty-one. She was still in school. The family told her she was ruining her life and she didn’t care. Aria hated all the pressure. She dated a guy that her parent didn’t like. She was talking of skipping grad school. She also had a secret social media account that only her friends knew about. Aria wanted to break away and she thought a baby would help. The cops learned that she contacted a woman that claimed to help pregnant women get back on their feet. Only cops met this woman. She seemed off. She also had a baby in the house that she lied about.

They called for backup. They were waiting for a warrant when they heard sounds from inside. Lucy created a distraction and Celina breached the home. She heard noises coming from the basement. She was about to go down there when the crazy lady came up behind her. She pushed Celina down the stairs. She locked the door. She was becoming unstable and she had Aria’s baby with her. Aria delivered her baby. It was a girl. The crazy lady stole the baby and was keeping Aria alive so that she had a ready supply of breast milk. She thought formula had too many chemicals in it.

After Celina got knocked out, Lucy entered the home. Their backup arrived. They had the place surrounded. The woman had nowhere to go and would have killed the baby rather that give her up. Lucy thankfully took care of her. The baby was rescued. Celina rescued Aria. Mother and baby were reunited. They were taken to the hospital. Her family was called. They were so full of remorse. Taylor didn’t think Aria would want to see her and Celina convinced her that Aria needed her sister now more than ever. It was genuinely true. Aria was so glad to see Taylor that she didn’t bring up the past.

The whole thing also made Lucy realize that true crime podcasts sometimes forgets the victim. It’s what they did with Celina’s sister. It’s what Heather tried to do with Aria. Lucy was kicking herself for liking them so much when Celina came to her defense. She said true crime often sheds a light on cold cases. It’s get people thinking again. It sometimes even gets the cases reopened. There was a place for them. Celina just didn’t want to be a part of it. Or have Blanca’s story monetized by Heather Marie.

The person hunting the hitmen turned out to be Malvado. Nolan was worried Malvado might talk if he was arrested, but he didn’t need to worry about that because Malvado was ultimately killed by Angela when he tried to go for his gun during his arrest. The hitman was now dead. He was no longer a danger to Bailey or Nolan. The feds were also keeping the website up. The hitmen were arrested and the now the men and women trying to hire hitmen will get arrested before they could harm their target.

Miles agreed to produce all new training videos. He even got Tim to agree to star in them. He did it in exchange for Miles helping the LAPD flag football team beat the LAFD. And Nolan loved beating his wife in the game.
