The spots were filling up. The artists had to bring it tonight! Up first was Cori Kennedy. She was a Country musician. She chose the song “Why Not Me” but just being country wasn’t enough to impress Reba. Reba didn’t turn until Cori hit that high note. She turned then and was quickly followed by Michael. Michael also liked what he was hearing. He knew he had no chance against Reba. She was Reba for a reason. Cori also revealed she has a songwriting background because she made one right up on the spot.

There was never any doubt that Cori was joining Michael’s team. She picked Reba and it gave Michael an idea. He realized there was the only one way to get a country artist to join his team. He needed to block Reba. He had to wait for the right opportunity to do so. The right artist. Someone that was worth going to battle with the great Reba McEntyre over. Next was Revel Day. He worked as a backup singer for some of the greats and tonight was one of the first times that he came out to showcase his own voice.

Revel tried out this year because of how close his family came to losing everything. The California fires from earlier this year devastated communities and wiped out homes. It nearly destroyed this man’s home. He saw the fires coming closer. He was forced to evacuate with his family. They returned after a while to find their home was one of the few to still be standing and so now was the time to celebrate. Revel chose the song “Somewhere Only We Know”. He gave a beautiful rendition. He had three judges turn for him.

Revel ultimately chose to join Team Niall. Niall understood his vibe and his wife was a huge fan. Niall himself was quite happy that he managed to outpitch Michael. He hoped to maintain that same energy. Next up was Natalia Albertini. She grew up at her family’s store. They run a party supply store and it’s why they were known for bringing the party wherever they went. Natalia chose the song “Out Here On My Own”. She was the first of the night to get Snoop to turn for her. Reba was the first to turn overall. And both Michael and Niall regretted not turning when they had their chance.

They waited too long. They locked eyes with each other. They were debating with each other to turn when they ran out of time. Michel even asked for more time so that he could turn for Natalia, but they were too late. They missed out on a great artist. Snoop and Reba had to battle it out for Natalia. Natalia respected Reba. She didn’t know if she should bow or not to Reba. It just that Snoop quickly won her over and she ended up joining his team. Next up was Marty O’Reilley. Marty was a family man.

His son Miles was adorably curious. He was having a blast backstage. He also grew up around music. Marty was a full-time musician. He tours and, while he was no household name yet, he loves playing at home. Miles joins him. Or tries to. Marty performed “Trouble” in honor of his family tonight. His raspy voice was distinctive. He easily stood out and it still took the judges forever to turn. They waited until the last possible moment for three of them to turn for Marty. Snoop, Niall, and Michael. Reba stopped this from being the first four chair turn.

Michael also brought out a penalty box that he had created. Niall thought it was for himself at first. Only Michael was the behind the box. He still managed to charm his way into Marty’s heart and Marty joined Team Michael. Next up was J. Blake. He was an emcee host. He hosted for some great shows and afterparties. He’s introduced other people. He was now ready to introduce himself to the world. He’s been in love with music since he was in the womb and tonight wasn’t his night. It could have been the song choice. Or nerves.

Reba’s steadfast loyalty in being the first turn won over Daron. He liked that she loved his voice enough to cross genres. Next up was a blast from the past. Rob Cole returned for another shot. He originally auditioned on Season 25. He was back for Season 28 because he has a lot to offer and he was still hoping to win over Reba. He managed to do so with his rendition of “Joy Of My Life” only to find out that Michael had blocked Reba. Michael then turned. Michael really wanted Rob for his team and now he has him.

Next up Justin Jenks. He’s another full-time musician. He was a singer/songwriter of his own band. They’ve released about thirty songs. Justin was a guy with a mullet, moustache, and a love of 70s attire. His persona threw his wife at first until she heard him sing. He won her over through song. It’s just didn’t work on the judges. They thought it was a duet and were shocked that it came from one person. They would have turned if they knew it was one person. They regretted missing out on him. And even asked him to come back because now they knew better.

Next up was Aarik Duncan. He put his own spin of “Birds Of A Feather”. He was a pastor’s kid. He was also a military vet and he’s got a great voice. Michael quickly turned for him. The others wasted time by not doing so. Michael didn’t care, though. He was just glad he won Aarik before anyone else intervened. Snoop even said that Michael was the perfect coach for him. His vibe matches Michael’s while Snoop was looking for a specific sound. He was still glad that someone got Aarik because his talent shouldn’t be ignored.

Sadie Dahl was up next. She manages a sensory depravation spa. She was the youngest there tonight at nineteen. Her grandma Linda was a huge fan of the show. She even watches the other versions from other countries. Linda was a two-time cancer survivor as well as a nurse. Sadie tried out in honor of her grandma and she wowed everyone with her rendition of “Colors”. Someone must have known that Michael would turn because they blocked him. Now, it could be Niall but odds are it was Reba in revenge for earlier in the night.

Sadie was another rare four chair turn, but her grandma watched a documentary on Snoop Dog and so Sadie had no other choice in the matter. She joined Team Snoop. And the rest missed out on someone who got better within the one performance.
