The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, August 22, reveals that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will say goodbye to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) while Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) faces a heartbreaking setback.
On Cane’s train, he’ll be annoyed over another visit from Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who’ll accuse him of stalling and will wonder if he’s going to shatter her dreams.
Cane will feel like he needs to explain things to the twins before they can move forward, but Phyllis won’t want to wait.
Phyllis will push for a project to help their goals in the meantime, so Cane will ask what she knows about artificial intelligence.
Phyllis will admit she’s dipped and dabbled in it, but Cane will want her to become an AI expert. Once Phyllis does that, Cane will plan to tell her how artificial intelligence fits into his corporate plans in Genoa City.
At Society on Friday’s Y&R episode, Devon Winters (Bryton James) will give Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) updates on Nate’s Audra issues.
Lily will also fill Devon in on how she tried to manipulate Cane and perhaps made things worse.
Now that Lily’s rejected Cane again and the twins are pushing him away too, she’ll worry that all he’s got left is retribution.
At Crimson Lights, Nate will threaten to walk out on Audra if she feeds him more lies.
Audra will suggest it seems like Nate’s already made up his mind, so she won’t think anything she says will make a difference.
Nate will disagree and act like they still have a chance if Audra will just tell the truth. Audra will stick to blaming Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and double down on her deception instead.
However, Nate will follow Audra out on the patio and keep at it. We’ll see Nate continue to poke holes in Audra’s story and try to convince her to be honest.
Audra will wonder what Nate wants her to say and mention this notion of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) hiring her to ruin Kyle’s relationship with Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).
Nate will ask if that’s what happened and push Audra to admit Victor offered that deal in exchange for Vibrante funding.
Instead of telling Nate the truth, Audra will act all hurt over him thinking so little of her. Nate will attempt to stop Audra from leaving, but she’ll refuse to stick around and be called a liar.
Instead, Audra will tell Nate goodbye and insist this is his loss before she struts out the door.
Cane will walk in next and offer Nate his condolences over Damian Kane’s (Jermaine Rivers) demise.
Nate will end up lashing out and will make it clear that Cane should indeed feel guilty for everything that happened in Nice.
Cane will also have an awkward catch-up session with Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) before he gets a text from Charlie Ashby (last played by Noah Alexander Gerry).
Charlie will push Cane to stop calling and just leave him as well as Mattie Ashby (last played by Lexie Stevenson) alone since they don’t know who their dad is anymore.
When Lily arrives, she’ll see that Cane looks upset. Cane will show Lily the text and hold out hope that he can fix this.
Lily will question why Cane lied about his double life, so Cane will admit he was afraid he’d fail and didn’t want Lily or the twins to witness it.
Back with Nate, he’ll meet up with Devon and explain what went down with Audra.
Devon will act like it’s for the best, but Nate will worry that maybe Audra was telling the truth and he blew up a good relationship for nothing.
Nate will also clarify that Audra was the one to end it and will think he might’ve pushed her away for good.
In the park, Phyllis will get on her tablet and start reading up on artificial intelligence news.
When Audra pops up, Phyllis will taunt her about crashing and burning.
Audra will wonder why Phyllis cares before talk turns to Cane and what he’s up to. Phyllis will insist that what Cane’s working on is bigger than Audra’s mind could comprehend.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis will keep making bold moves for Cane’s sake, so stay tuned.
