The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) may face a drunk disaster. Will Matt Clark aka “Mitch Bacall” (Roger Howarth) ruin Nikki’s sobriety once he targets the Newmans?
After Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) unleashed the AI program and obliterated Matt’s finances, he left his enemy fuming.
Now Matt’s hoping to score leverage and restore his wealth, but vengeance will remain a major goal as well.
Matt is thinking bigger when it comes to his revenge plans this time around.
Instead of limiting payback to the key players who were in Los Angeles, Matt will expand his target list and go after even more Newman family members.
Of course, it’s a no-brainer for Matt to target Victor’s wife!
You can bet Nikki will land in the danger zone since there’s no better way to get Victor’s attention.
That brings us to Nikki’s sobriety and some concerns about how fragile it might be.
There’s a chance Nikki could be headed for another drunken crisis depending on how things play out.
Y&R fans will recall that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) intentionally relapsed to snap alcoholic Nikki out of her own downward spiral and scare her into rehab.
The desperate scheme worked, but Victor was livid with Jack for putting Nikki at risk and has been craving vengeance ever since.
In the December 17 episode, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) gave Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) updates on that story and left her feeling guilty about being the reason for Nikki’s broken sobriety.
Nikki’s drinking problem came up once again when Claire expressed that guilt to her grandmother later.
In other words, the show’s been reminding viewers of when Claire resorted to sinister strategies while working for Jordan (Colleen Zenk), which led to her forcing alcohol into Nikki’s system.
Nikki struggled to get her sobriety back on track in the aftermath.
Will Matt’s plan involve ruining Nikki’s sobriety as well?
Matt tried to make Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) take drugs to save Sienna Bacall’s (Tamara Braun) life, so he could easily order Nikki to drink to save Claire or someone else she loves.
It could be part of Matt’s terrible tactics against the Newmans since he’s going to sink awfully low.
Matt is a truly twisted villain and will prove it with the demented plots he’s about to carry out.
Will Nikki face a drunk disaster as a result? Time will tell, but some scary news is ahead for the Newmans no matter what!
