The Young and the Restless Tuesday, September 2 Recap: Claire Wants to Get Drunk with Holden After Ditching Kyle

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, September 2, reveals that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will want to get drunk with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) after ditching Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) dinner.

At the Abbott mansion, Claire will ask when Kyle bought the ring, so he’ll admit it was earlier in the day.

That’ll leave Claire thinking Kyle just proposed as a way to fix things after their fight, but he’ll deny that this was about damage control.

Since Kyle will be blowing past living together and asking Claire to marry him, she’ll wonder if the next thing is wanting to have a baby with her.

Kyle will crack a “not yet” joke, but then he’ll apologize for not reading the room.

Claire will still think all of Kyle’s actions lately are really reactions to something else.

There’ll be more talk about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Audra Charles’ (Zuleyka Silver) plan, so Kyle will screw up by saying it “almost worked” before he stopped it.

Claire will flip out and wonder if sleeping with Audra was on the table, but Kyle will assure Claire that she’s the one he wants and try to get their night back on track.

As for the ring, Claire won’t be able to accept it yet and will need time to think.

Kyle will be sorry for breaking Claire’s trust and triggering bad Jordan (Colleen Zenk) memories.

After Kyle convinces Claire to just forget the proposal, they’ll try to resume their dinner.

Claire will give Kyle updates on her promotion, but things will eventually be too awkward for them to continue.

After Claire suggests they should call it a night, she’ll agree they should talk more, but she’ll offer another reminder about needing time.

Kyle will move closer like he wants to kiss Claire, but she’ll dodge it before taking off.

Once Claire makes it to the coffeehouse, she’ll bump into Holden and face questions about her rough night.

Instead of talking about it, Claire will decide she wants to get drunk since she’s never done that before and will ask if Holden wants to join her.

At Society, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will cross paths with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters).

Jack will try to pry information out of Phyllis, but Diane will provoke her instead and make that difficult.

However, Phyllis will deny Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) claims about Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) plan being off and will counter that he’s just delaying it to focus on his kids instead.

After Phyllis heads to the bar on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will chat with Jack and Diane briefly.

As the conversation takes a tense turn, Jack will threaten to make Cane and Amanda wish they’d never come back if there are any other surprises for his family or company.

Once Amanda joins Phyllis, she’ll face questions about Cane’s plan since Phyllis will be determined to get her hands dirty and move forward with it.

Back with Jack and Diane, they’ll come home to find Kyle sulking alone.

Kyle will confess that Diane and Jack were right about the proposal being a bad idea, but Jack will insist they didn’t want to be.

At the ranch, Cane will meet with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and reveal that he’s turning down the partnership against Jabot.

Victor will point out that it was an order rather than a request and threaten to use Newman Media to expose Colin Atkinson’s (Tristan Rogers) final con.

Cane will suggest he’ll just have to take his chances and will wonder why Victor wants his help anyway.

That’ll lead to Victor’s admission about some big news that he’s uncovered.

It turns out Victor will know about Cane and his team working on some AI software that allows you to infiltrate any company, move vast sums of money and destabilize its financial infrastructure.

Cane will play dumb, but Victor will insist on reaping the lucrative benefits of this software and use it to take down Jabot permanently.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will keep fighting for what he wants, so stay tuned for the next phase of his mission!
