The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, December 17, reveals that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will drop hints about threatening to divorce Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) over his cruelty. Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will also get called out on her obsession, so here’s what Y&R fans can look forward to.
At Society, Audra will talk to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) about all the Jabot drama and admit she likes the idea of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) suffering.
Sally will feel like Audra is obsessed with Kyle and will suspect maybe she’s still attracted to him deep down.
Audra will deny that and insist hate is the only thing she feels for Kyle at this point.
After Sally talks about setting up a meeting between Audra and the mystery investor, Audra will guess it’s Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and know she’s got her work cut out for her to win Jill over.
Sally will warn Audra to stop going after Kyle and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) since Jill wouldn’t approve of her targeting Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son.
At Crimson Lights, Claire will bump into Kyle, who’ll offer updates on the Abbotts’ belief that Victor has the AI program and used it on Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) company.
Kyle will also explain that they were shutting Jabot down to protect it when Victor blew up the news through Newman Media.
Although the Abbotts planned to spin it as restructuring, Victor beat them to the punch and turned this into a press disaster.
Claire will struggle to think the worst of Victor without evidence that he has the AI program, but Kyle will insist it’s true.
After Kyle rants about Victor loathing Jack, he’ll mention the night Jack stopped Nikki from drinking.
Victor has a different view of that night and thinks Jack put Nikki at risk.
Claire will feel guilty since she was the reason Nikki broke her sobriety, but Kyle won’t want her blaming herself.
If it hadn’t been that, Kyle will feel like something else would’ve derailed Jack and Victor’s tenuous truce.
Although Kyle won’t have time to deal with Audra right now, he’ll let Claire know that he hasn’t forgotten about their alliance and will suggest they can plan later.
At the GCAC, Jack will talk to Nikki, who’ll feel terrible since she heard Victor and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) talking about the shutdown last night.
Nikki decided to sleep on it instead of giving Jack the heads-up right away, so Jack will reel since her warning could’ve changed everything.
However, Jack won’t blame Nikki despite the press negativity that’s now spiraling out of control.
When Jack asks if Nikki knows where Victor’s storing the AI program, she’ll admit she has no clue and Victor wouldn’t tell her if she asked.
Once Jack heads home, he’ll meet up with Kyle and reveal the plan to get Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) on their side in this Victor fight.
Jack will also ask Kyle to call Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) to discuss Marchetti and perhaps get her to speak with Phyllis and Victor.
After Kyle mentions the Audra alliance he’s cooked up with Claire, Jack’s advice will be to ignore Audra altogether.
Regardless, Jack will keep the focus on their current feud with Victor and will wonder if Kyle could talk to Claire about getting through to her grandfather.
Meanwhile, an angry Nikki will come blowing in the Newman ranch looking for Victor.
Claire will show up moments later and quiz Nikki, who’ll admit Victor has the AI program and was behind the attack on Cane’s company.
Nikki will back up Kyle’s version of events and fume over Victor’s latest move against Jabot.
It’ll leave Nikki eager to show Victor that he’s got something to lose too if he crosses this line with the Abbotts.
When Claire wonders if Nikki might not be able to forgive Victor for this, Nikki will admit that’s exactly what she’s saying.
The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that Victor and Nikki’s marriage will be put to the test, so stay tuned.
