In tonight’s 1000-lb sister episode, Tammy was mostly moved in with her girlfriend’s. She still has some of her stuff at the old place. She was cleaning up when Billy who was an old family friend visited.
They met back in 1993. He was administrator of a church at the time. He was helping arrange fun activities for kids and he saw Tammy at her house. Amy said “that’s Fat Tammy, she can’t go”. He replied that Fat Amy can’t go if Fat Tammy can’t go. He went into the house and he got Tammy. He made sure she was included. They’ve been friends ever since. He even officiated at her wedding.
Amy recently asked him to officiate at her upcoming wedding. Tammy thinks its because Amy was jealous of her. Tammy explained the ongoing feud with Amy. She left out she called Amy a “deadbeat mom”.
She didn’t mention how she went over the line. She only mentioned that it started because Amy asked about alpacas. Amy had a nightmare about getting bit by an alpaca. She got bit by a camel. She has PTSD. The correct response would’ve been to say that there’s nothing bigger than a dog at the animal shelter. Tammy instead chose to get angry.
Tammy lashed out at her sister. She thought Amy was giving excuses. Who knows? Maybe she was or maybe not. What Tammy knew was that Amy expressed fear and she reacted with anger rather than sympathy.
Billy tried to get her to apologize. He wanted them to fix their relationship. He knew they got through a lot of stuff with the help of each other and he didn’t want them to lose that. Billy was going to council the marrying couple. Its what he did for Tammy and Caleb. He was going to do the same for Amy and Brian.
Tammy doesn’t like Brian. She wants for Billy to not like him either. Billy said he’d be fair. He knew no matter what he saw or heard that it might not be enough to change Amy’s mind. Her heart was set on Brian.
Tammy also wasn’t the greatest person to decide what’s best for other people. She’s acting out when what she should be doing is apologizing and being honest. She misses her sister. She’s refusing to budge over this latest fight, but its only going to hurt her. It’s not hurting Amy. Amy blocked her and she’s moving on with her life.
Amy did the wedding cake tasting with Brian and a few family members. They all watched her gorged herself till it looked like she might be sick. They thought it could be dumping syndrome.
Its what happens when someone who had bariatric surgery eats too much. It could lead to illness. Amy thought she had it too until she burped and decided to have more cake. It made Chris realize that she wasn’t serious about her diet at all. He was making jokes in his confessional. Amy claimed that she wanted to lose weight before her wedding. It just didn’t look like she would do it.
Those poor bakers. They looked so uncomfortable when it looked like Amy would hurl. The others simply looked concern and Amy was focused on cake. She wanted this wedding to be better than her first wedding. It’s why she tried on dresses. She mail-ordered her first wedding’s dress.
She wanted something to fit her size at the time and there wasn’t much. She has more options now. She lost a lot of weight since she had the surgery. She put some back on after two kids. Only there was enough loss that she was able to fall in love with a fit and flare.
Amy didn’t know the power of the dress until she put it on. She was smiling. She felt skinnier than she normally does. She was so happy. It really was the right dress for her. She said she came out of a dark place and she just wants to be around positivity. She loved Brian for being her happiness.
Andrea was Tammy’s happiness. Andrea cares about Tammy so much that she reached out to Amy. She tried to bring the two sisters together. She underestimated how bad things have gotten because Amy and Tammy didn’t even try.
Tammy walked away before it really kicked off. Amy never got her apology so she said her sister was dead to her. She couldn’t deal with Tammy’s temper anymore.
Tammy couldn’t deal with her tears anymore. Andrea wasn’t the best mediator and still she gave it a good try. The sisters were on the outs with no signs of it getting better. They needed therapy. Genuine therapy. The escape room and a mere sit-down weren’t enough.
