In tonight’s America’s Got Talent episode, it’s the Finale! It was the biggest night for this giant talent show in the world. The winner walks away with a million dollars and their own headlining show in Las Vegas.
KSI was still filling in for Simon again tonight. He loved being there. He said the show had everything from robots to cute dogs. What’s not to like. It was also huge thing for him because he’s been a fan of the show for years. He loved being there and looking back on yesterday’s performances – who wouldn’t be. They were all on their best.
Sometimes their bests don’t always result in the way they plan, but at least they tried. Some journeys came to an end tonight. One lucky act also ended up with a massive platform to celebrate their craft. There was also performances on a night packed with celebrities. Rei Ami was the first of the night. She’s a singer/rapper. She’s from South Korea and so she was glad to perform alongside the South Korean dance sensation, Come Here. K-Pop has really taken over in the 2020s. Rei was also involved with Oscar film, “K-Pop Demon Hunters”.
It was great to see Korean pride onstage. The great thing about AGT was that included everyone from all around the world. Take the next performance. They put two finalists together. Unitree and Royal Lasers got to perform a dance number. They danced to DJ Steve Aoki. The award nominated DJ was on his best tonight. He had everyone dancing with their hearts and that included the robots from Unitree. Unitree was from China. The people operating the robots had sometimes needed an interpreter. And yet by working with the American dance gorup Royal Lasers, they showed that language doesn’t have to be a barrier to great art.
Dancing was an art. To those watching at home and dreaming about one day performing – don’t let anyone stop your sense of wonder or your talent. Taylen Biggs was a young artist. She was active in several fields. She interviewed the cast. She was insightful. She asked great questions. She was also confident. The younger generation was going to be alright with young artists taking their craft as seriously as Taylen did. She was barely a teenager yet she managed to intimidate both Mel B and Howie by being so on point with just everything.
The earlier collaboration with the dancers didn’t stand alone either. They finally put both dog acts together. Olivia Befus got to dance up onstage with Acro Canine Crew. They also had a celebrity of their own. They had Lele Pons join them for this performance. She got to dance with them and with the dogs. It was a sweet moment that was worth it. America needs a chance to smile again and they voted to keep these two because it was good fun. It involves children that still had their baby teeth and who love to dance with their animals.
They would be a hit with families wanting to take their own kids to a light-hearted show. Some of the others have an element of danger to them. There was Veronika Goroshkova. The Ukrainian aerialist was pulling off daring feats in the air and, while everyone is purely amazed watching her, they were also constantly afraid she’d fall. It has happened once before with a pair of aerialists on AGT. Tonight Veronika didn’t have any mistakes. She also got to fly to a performance from Josh Groban.
Josh was a phenomenal singer. Although he didn’t perform one of his songs. He performed “Skyfall” and that seemed a better fit for Veronika than anything else. Their joint performance was followed by Geno Ploeger. The magician was best at card tricks and he was joined by the man that started it all on AGT, Matt Franco. They got to show off their tricks to each other. They got to be magical. Geno winning would be the fourth time that a magician has won the show in its twenty-one year history. Which was why so many felt it was long overdue.
Hundred Fingers also got to perform with world renown pianist, Chloe Flower. They were also magicians. They were a magical group and they brought in cards tonight. Perhaps taking inspiration from their past selves and Geno. Their performance with Chloe works because they always had a classical feel to them. They didn’t explain their magic. They didn’t need call and response from the audience. They were merely magic given as a performance. The same could be for Nene Royal and she wasn’t a magician.
Hundred Fingers also got to perform with world renown pianist, Chloe Flower. They were also magicians. They were a magical group and they brought in cards tonight. Perhaps taking inspiration from their past selves and Geno. Their performance with Chloe works because they always had a classical feel to them. They didn’t explain their magic. They didn’t need call and response from the audience. They were merely magic given as a performance. The same could be for Nene Royal and she wasn’t a magician.
Nene was a rocker. She got to live her full rocker dream by performing with Linkin Park. May Chester Bennington be at peace and onto his next grand adventure. The new lead singer of the iconic group was now Emily Armstrong. She was good. She just couldn’t match Nene in the scream shout tonight. Nene out-rocked a rocker. If nothing else, this was the moment that was going to stick with her. She will be telling her family about it for decades to come. The same goes for Lai Noelle. These two teenagers got to perform with their icons.
Lai got to perform with Jessica Sanchez. Not only did she win last season heavily into her pregnancy, but she returned after being on the first season. Showing she was a big part of AGT history. Lai was able to hold her own in her duet with Jessica. They were both truly accomplished singers. Lai’s singing voice sounded nothing like her talking voice. It was such a disconnect when she introduced Jessica. At the same time, it showed off a duality. She was a girly kid until she sang and out came Whitney.
Jessica also got a chance to perform her new single that was out now.
It’s been such a stellar night full of performances and finally it was time for the reveals. First up was the top five. Come Here and Royal Lasers were both called to the stage. The act advancing into the top fie was Royal Lasers. Their innovation couldn’t be topped amongst the dancers. Olivia Befus and Hundred Fingers were the next ones called up onstage. The one advancing from that group was Hundred Fingers. There was less doubt with that one, but all the bigger of the magical group to congratulate Olivia on a job well done.
The next grouping had both Veronika and Lai. They waited until after the commercial break to reveal the winner. When Terry later revealed it was Veronika advancing, there were some shocks. Though Lai still has plenty of time to return to AGT. The next one was between Nene and Unitree. It was a battle between humans and robots. The robots lost out because human talent couldn’t be beat. Geno was then up against Acro Canine Crew. It seemed that while America has loved dog acts this season – it wasn’t enough to beat out the others. And the round went to Geno.
Geno, Nene, Veronika, Hundred Fingers, and Royal Lasers were the top five. Coming in fifth place was Veronika. The act coming in fourth was Royal Lasers. Coming in third was Hundred Fingers. Howie already agreed to front their show. He was putting his money where his mouth is and he promised to follow through on it. It then came down to Nene Royal and Geno Ploeger. The winner of Season 21 of AGT was Nene Royal! The final two were both amazing in their own right and yet nothing could stop the rocker.
Congratulations, Nene!
The rocker also proved that two musical acts could win back to back without issue.
