In tonight’s Brilliant Minds episode, Wolf chose to stay at Hudson Oakes. He was finally working on his mental health. He felt good there and he had no clue what he was missing. His good friend Dr. Carol Pierce was hooking up with Anthony. Charlie was coming after his job. Which resulted in Josh coming after his.

The hospital was facing tougher and tougher cases, but Wolf didn’t know about any of it nor could he do anything about it. He stayed at Hudson Oakes. He even managed to find patients to treat there. He met a young woman who might be experiencing demonic possession.

Regan’s case was fascinating. Wolff came across her one night as she tore up photos of herself with her children. Regan was the mother of two. Her life suddenly took a dramatic turn.

She had just tucked the kids into bed when she felt a presence in her house and immediately ran to her children’s room to tell them to hide. She put a dresser before the door. She did everything to keep whatever that was out and it still must have gotten in. Regan became a patient at Hudson Oakes. She was a little notorious there.

Regan was given the nickname of “The Howler of Hudson Oakes”. Everyone can hear her screaming. Someone whose been in there for the start of her journey said she came in about eight months ago with a droopy face.

Then she left for a while and she came back with her face all normal. Wolf right away thought of Bell’s palsy. It was facial paralysis. Wolf thought maybe that’s why her face was so droopy months ago and why it’s now better. It couldn’t have been a stroke because there’s no way she would have recover that fast.

Wolf was so interested in her case that he told Dr. Frederick that he liked to stay on longer there. He wanted to get rid of her because Dr. Frederick didn’t want him treating Regan.

She reminded him that they were both patients there. There was no such thing as patient/doctor confidentiality. Wolf then said he would like to stay a few more days and he knew Dr. Frederick would be kept away as she tried to get a deal from his insurance. Only Wolf’s mom was in town. She came back after he called her about his hospitalization.

Muriel also heard what happened at the board meeting. Josh hadn’t gotten around to firing him yet so she agreed to do it. She was the one that brought Charlie on and that’s how he repaid her. By callousing pushing her son to the edge just to prove a point. Muriel couldn’t allow him to stay on. She found an open residency at NYU.

She told him to take it. She also warned him to never return to Bronx General Hospital. It was her one rule. Charlie was never going to be able to work alongside Wolf and not feel resentment.

If anything, Charlie showed that the mere idea of Wolf was enough to make him lose his composure. He was hurting. Charlie still didn’t accept that pain until he went to visit Wolf in the hospital. He tried to tell him that he won. He was leaving Bronx General. Wolf rightly guessed at what happened. He told Charlie that he forgave him.

He’s been on that path to Hudson Oakes long before he met him. He had needed to get help and he finally did. Wolf even said that Charlie reminded him a lot of his younger self.

Charlie has the makings of a great doctor. It’s why Wolf told him to stay on at Bronx General rather than go to NYU. Wolf had studied Regan. He realized she suffered from a neurological disease that can easily be treated. It often gets misdiagnosed. Especially with women. Wolf taught Regan how to fake a seizure so she finally get the medical help she deserves.

Dr. Frederick wouldn’t have allowed it otherwise. Regan was diagnosed at the hospital and given actual treatment. She remembered everything.

She returned to a sense of normalcy, but she still had her demons. They just took different shapes now. She was so angry at herself for how she treated her kids before and now they she work on repairing the relationship.

Dr. Frederick meanwhile suggested that Wolf stay on and tried to talk his mother into agreeing to it. Muriel saw right through her. Muriel got Wolf out of that place and Carol got his bike back. He had tried to sell it. Carol stopped the sale and he got to ride away on his bike. Away from Hudson Oakes.

Wolf had purpose now. The one thing he knew he had to do was fight for Josh. He wanted to get back together and Josh did frequently visit him at the facility. Josh seemed to be open to it. His current partner spotted that as well. And he might’ve broken up with Josh tonight.

Carol also helped a newlywed couple to overcome their intimacy issues because the bride hadn’t told her husband everything yet the truth really did set her free. It also gave Carol the idea to come clean to Anthony.

She’s only been with one other person besides him. It was her ex-husband. She didn’t tell Anthony this to seek commitment. She just didn’t want to see other people for now and he happily agreed to it.

THE END!
