In tonight’s Fire Country episode, Bode was putting together a volunteer firefighters service. There was just one problem. No one had faith in them. The officials still wanted to rely on CalFire.

The same people suffering from a lack of funding. There was one rich guy willing to offer a lot of donations in return for Sharon endorsing a data center. The same ones that pollute the nearby air and water by promising jobs. Bode talked his mother out of the endorsement. He said that the volunteer firefighters will be up to task. He promised that he could get them running like CalFire.

He underestimated how hard trainers had it. The captains, the chiefs, and those who merely teach at the academy had pushed people to the fullest to get them into shape. Bode was getting slim pickings with his group of volunteers.

There was pest control, a priest, and a thirty years old guy looking for direction that all felt that they could become temporary firefighters. They were all seemingly decent people. Milo made a mistake during training. He accidentally turned on a nozzle. He injured one o the regular firefighters. And that upset Manny.

Manny hated the need for volunteers. He didn’t think they were there for the right reasons. He saw them as walking disasters. He thought all of that from before the accident with one of his guys.

Afterwards, he yelled at Bode. He yelled at CJ. He said they were pushed too fast into something they weren’t ready for. Sharon thought the same. She later suspended the VFD. She didn’t think they were ready and she was considering taking that earlier endorsement. Bode and CJ weren’t happy about it. They saw great promise in the recruits.

There was a woman who lost her house in the Zabel Ridge Fire. She then nearly lost her dog because she was living out of her car and they nearly died in a second fire. She was there for the rights.

They were all there for the right reasons. It was simply Bode who didn’t see it at first. He expected too much of them too fast. It was his leadership that needed fixing and he said as much when they later got called to another fire. The fire was at the mobile home park. Some family was throwing a birthday party for a little girl when a drunk disrupted them.

It created a literal fire. Not just one of words. It sent the gazebo on fire and that structural fire quickly began spreading to the homes. Station 42 didn’t have Drake County because they were busy with a fire of their own. They also didn’t have Three Rock. Their car was destroyed in the shooting. They tried fixing it on their own. The radiator blew and they needed to replace it. Angel was so fixated on gaining enough credit to take off his time that he pulled strings. He had someone send them a brand new radiator from the outside.

It went against regulations. Its not like Three Rock can accept mysterious gifts. There was bound to be questions on where the parts came from. How much were they? The higher ups will also demand to know why they got the donation. Eve has to clear it through all of those channels before she could accept it. The first step she took was seeing if Angel used the payphone to call in the favor. He hadn’t been. Eve figured out he had used an illegal phone that he snuck into camp and that was enough to send him back to prison.

Manny had been right. Angel was a rulebreaker. Eve was disappointed in him. She was considering what to do next when the structure fire took a turn for the worse. There was a little girl who wandered back into her home to get her medal. Bode was sent in after her and not after he calling for the volunteers. They needed boots on the ground. Sharon approved it. Milo who had created the accident earlier had managed to stand up in a big way on call. He made sure they got the water supply and Bode was able to save that little girl.

Sharon went back after the scene had been cleared to get the medal for the kid. It was important enough to run into fire. It had to be important enough to find afterwards. Sharon was digging through rubble when she found the bag of cash hidden in the stove. The stove protected the bag perfectly. And she didn’t know what to do with all that cash.

Sharon was considering keeping it to refund her fire department. Until she decides she was of no help to anyone. Not even Eve who asked for her help on what to do with Angel and who was told that a leader has to make tough calls.

THE END!
