In tonight’s Suddenly Amish episode, Temptation was a real thing for everyone. This included the Amish. James had a crush on Kendra that wasn’t reciprocated. She had feelings for Matt and Matt returned those feelings. James got jealous. It’s important to know that because it played a part in what happened next.
James later heard that the two of them went to a motel together. He knew there was just one nearby motel. He went there. He banged on the duo’s room door. They never opened it. They said they felt misinterpreted once they had gotten caught.
Both Kendra and Matt claimed nothing happened. They said they talked and were going to sleep. They forget that they couldn’t touch much less sleep in the same room.
There wasn’t a single person that believed nothing happened. Or that was the initially intent when they went to a motel together. They could’ve sat out on the porch to talk without touching. There was no need for touch in a conversation. They never opened the door to James because Matt thought their friends in the experiment had betrayed them.
Matt then decided to quit the show again. It was the second time for him. He went back to the house and he packed without talking to anyone. He threw a little hissy fit on his way out.
He also left Kendra in a lurch. She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know if she should fight to stay or leave with Matt because its not like he was inviting her along. He left without her. She initially joined the show as a means of getting away from the fakery. She wanted to strip things down to the honest Amish truth. The truth now was that her chance with the Amish was done.
Not that everyone agreed with James going after them. Emma told him it was out of line. She said he could’ve saved their souls if he got the chance to talk to them before they went to the motel.
Not after. Allen also thought James overreacted by going to the motel. He said drama wasn’t the Amish way. Allen believed the best way to resolve the tension was to keep everyone working. He put them to work with the animals. It worked to take their minds off it until Kendra finally showed back up. Kendra wanted to talk to everyone.
She wanted to clear the air now that it was just her. Matt had already left without saying goodbye. Billie Jo was so angry with her at first that she refused to hear her out and she snapped at Kendra. It was Judah who convinced her to at least hear Kendra out. Kendra reminded her friends that she didn’t grow up Amish.
She was English. She went on a date with a guy or so she claimed. She didn’t think it would make everyone so upset with her. The thing is that they warned her about this and neither she nor Matt ever truly apologized for letting down their friends.
Matt didn’t apologize at all. Kendra had to see that anger from Billie Jo before she could apologize. It was barely an apology because she soon began to cry and Billie Jo had to comfort her.
Kendra decided to leave the show. There was no path forward for her. James was sad to see her go. So much so that Emma noticed. Emma decided to stop being a part of the show. She had a confrontation of her own with James in which she accused him of wanting Kendra. James tried to deny it. She called him a liar and said she doesn’t want a liar in her life.
Emma was asked why she was so upset. She pretended not to understand the question. Her leaving had left everything on edge. The whole house felt it. They were all waiting for the next shoe to drop and that shoe was bound to come from Judah. Judah has enjoyed becoming Amish. He liked the lifestyle.
It made him feel braver. He just didn’t know how to bring up he was bisexual. Judah was holding onto that secret as Allen met with the Bishop. He told him that the experiment was falling apart. He also mentioned something inappropriate happened between James and Emma.
Allen didn’t go into the details, but everyone was guessing what happened and it’s hard to remember they were third cousins.
And with just five days left of the experiment that’s when Judah’s mother showed up.
THE END!
