The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers hint that Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) may be setting themselves up for a fierce fight.
Carter and Steffy’s surrogacy plan is obviously going to fall apart and could set the stage for a custody feud over the baby.
Steffy already tried to tell Carter that she couldn’t just hand over her biological child.
When Steffy said she wasn’t “built that way,” Carter really should’ve listened since that was basically a warning.
Carter feels like Steffy can shove down her maternal feelings and take on the role of godmother instead, but he’ll inevitably be wrong about that.
The writing is on the wall for Steffy to get attached to this baby and refuse to give him or her up.
It’s taken a lot of pushing on Carter’s part to convince Steffy to go along with this surrogacy plot.
It’ll be easy for Steffy to back out down the road, especially after she’s holding her precious bundle of joy in her arms.
Steffy is trying to convince herself she can do what Carter wants and surrender this baby, but watching Carter and Daphne Rose Walton (Murielle Hilaire) raise her son or daughter would be too painful.
That may be crystal clear to Steffy once this pregnancy plays out and the baby finally arrives.
If Steffy is correct about the paternity and this really is Carter’s baby, then B&B may be setting up some serious custody conflict.
Steffy may back out of the surrogacy agreement and admit the truth about how the baby was conceived.
That could lead to Carter and Steffy facing some courtroom custody drama, so the story could enter another messy chapter.
Bottom line, there’s no way Steffy and Carter’s surrogacy scheme will lead to everyone living happily ever after.
This plan is doomed, so Carter and Steffy had better be prepared for the fallout.
