The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) will keep going through the motions of a traditional surrogacy with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) pressuring her every step of the way.
However, if Daphne Rose Walton (Murielle Hilaire) ends up facing a baby twist, then that could change the game for Steffy.
Daphne has premature ovarian insufficiency, so it’s unlikely that she could conceive her own child naturally.
That said, it’s not totally impossible, which could be important on a soap where the least likely outcomes often happen.
After Daphne found out her diagnosis, she was understandably devastated.
Daphne’s condition explained all the negative pregnancy tests after so many failed attempts to make a baby with Carter.
Nevertheless, we can’t ignore the possibility of a soapy miracle pregnancy.
B&B fans will recall that Daphne’s slim chance of conception was brought up before she started exploring other options.
Daphne was too disappointed to even get her hopes up about something like that.
As a result, Daphne settled on using an egg donor and surrogate to build a family with Carter.
Now a surrogacy charade is underway, but Steffy and Carter are hiding the fact that they made this baby in the Forrester CEO office!
This isn’t a normal surrogacy situation at all, so Steffy has already been struggling with the idea of giving up her baby.
What if Daphne gets that miracle pregnancy that was previously hinted at?
That could certainly complicate things for Steffy and Carter now that they’ve committed to this plan.
Daphne would love to have multiple children, so she may view this as a sign she’s meant to welcome two babies into her home with Carter.
Steffy, on the other hand, may view this as a sign that she needs to come clean!
Of course, Carter would still object since the truth could destroy his marriage to Daphne and Steffy’s marriage to John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan).
This surrogacy is the only way to cover up Steffy and Carter’s betrayal of their spouses.
Even so, if Daphne winds up miraculously pregnant, it could make it far too tempting for Steffy to confess and announce that she’s keeping her own baby.
Steffy could blow things up once the pressure to grant Daphne’s child wish is off.
