The Young and the Restless Friday, September 11 Recap: Jack Collapses, Marie Exits, Phyllis Busts Matt

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, September 11, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will cause quite a stir at Society.

Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) will also plan to exit Genoa City.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will make a discovery about Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) as well, so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.

At Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) rehab clinic, he’ll admit to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) that he’s hoping to head home by the end of the week.

Adam will think that’s a mistake, but his conversation will be interrupted by Marie’s arrival.

Marie will speak with Nick alone and admit she’s decided to head back east so she can be near her parents.

After Marie thanks Nick for everything and assures him that she’s found a rehab facility in her hometown, they’ll share a goodbye kiss.

After Marie exits, Nick will be even more convinced that he needs to be near his own family and get back to his life behind rehab walls.

At the Newman ranch, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will speak with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) about the drama Nick was dragged into regarding Marie’s dead husband, Logan Kirkland (Tommy Walker).

Next, Victor will find out Nikki is running Vibrante, so he’ll be thrilled over the news.

Nikki will wonder if it’s because Victor wants to launch another Abbott-Newman feud and will want no part of that.

Victor will assure Nikki that he has no interest in another battle with Jack and that he just wants her to run a successful company.

Victoria and Nikki will also mention their recent trip to Jabot, where they let Jack know about Nikki’s new role and the competition he’d be facing.

When Adam pops up, he’ll admit Nick decided whatever the newly widowed Marie had to say was more important than their visit.

Adam will then mention that Nick is hoping to be released by the end of the week.

Although the idea alarmed Adam at first, he’ll come around after deciding there could be more triggers in rehab than at home.

Adam, Nikki, Victoria and Victor will all plan to make sure Nick has the support he needs.

At the Riverbank Motel, Matt will wrestle with whether to go through with the plan to save Phyllis from choking in front of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

After Matt imagines doing it wrong and accidentally killing Phyllis, he’ll text her to let her know the plan is off.

Phyllis will bail on lunch with Sharon to deal with an emergency and leave Sharon puzzled.

Once Phyllis makes it to Matt’s motel room, she’ll question why he chickened out on their scheme.

Matt will insist he couldn’t live with himself if something went wrong. Since Matt only just found Phyllis, he won’t want to lose her.

Phyllis will feel like there’s more to the story and will spot a pair of women’s sunglasses nearby.

There’ll also be the smell of a very familiar perfume in the room, so Phyllis will confront Matt over who’s been there and seemingly assume it was Patty.

Once Kyle heads to Jabot, he’ll meet up with Jack, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

All of them will talk about Patty’s escape before Patty calls Jack using her burner phone.

In an alley somewhere, Patty will claim she’s leaving the country and that she isn’t going after Jack or his family.

Despite everything that’s happened, Patty won’t have any hard feelings toward Jack and will be glad he’s alive.

At one point, Diane will scoff at something Patty says, so Patty will hear her and wonder if someone else is there with Jack.

However, Jack will deny it and insist he wants to see Patty for a proper goodbye.

Patty will decline and hang up, but then she’ll struggle over whether Jack was being sincere and whether she should see him again.

Back at Jabot, Diane won’t buy for a second that Patty is leaving town and that she plans to leave Jack’s family alone.

Jack will get Diane, Billy and Kyle to come with him since he’ll still want to carry out a Patty trap.

At Society, Jack will offer reassurance about his plan and confirm that it’s moving forward.

Just as Jack and the others are about to grab a table, he’ll collapse back on the sofa like he’s in medical distress.

Billy will call 911 as Diane tries to get Jack to respond to her voice.

It’ll make a big scene in the restaurant and draw lots of attention, so is this part of Jack’s plot to lure Patty out of hiding?

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Jack might want to back Patty into a corner at the hospital, so stay tuned.
