The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, May 18, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will hear some Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) alarm bells while Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) turns to Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell).
At the GCAC, Phyllis will wonder if Nick really has the power to get the charges against her dropped, but he’ll insist he can make it happen.
Nick will want to see Matt right away, but Phyllis will argue that they don’t have a proper deal in place.
Phyllis will insist she wants the charges to go away and she wants to keep Summers Conglomerate.
Once Nick has news on Phyllis’ legal drama clearing up and makes headway with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), she’ll insist she’s willing to deliver Matt.
Nick will warn Phyllis not to screw him over and will ultimately meet with Christine about dropping the charges against Phyllis.
Christine will grill Nick and wonder why she’d do that when there’s clear evidence of fraud.
Nick will argue that Christine needs to focus on taking down Matt instead, but Christine won’t see why she can’t take down Phyllis, too.
It’ll eventually dawn on Christine that Phyllis must have Matt, so she’ll lash out at Nick for letting Phyllis manipulate things.
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis will be searching for Matt when Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) pops up.
Sharon will rip into Phyllis over this Matt situation, but Phyllis will act like Victor is to blame for putting her back against the wall.
At Society, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will bicker with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) since she’ll hope no one stands in Nick’s way.
Chelsea will think getting dangerous Matt off the streets is more important than getting Newman Enterprises back.
Adam, on the other hand, will insist Newman must be returned to its rightful owners, too.
Nick could blow that – not to mention he’s using all this Matt chaos as a way to avoid getting treatment for his drug addiction.
Chelsea will comfort Adam as he frets over his brother since he’ll be convinced that Nick is still using.
Later, Adam will relay concerns to Victor at the Newman ranch and fear Nick’s going to strike a deal of his own with Phyllis.
At the park café, Y&R spoilers say Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will arrive since Matt summoned her for a conversation.
Patty will sense that Matt’s in a lot of pain and will confirm that most of what Phyllis said about her was true.
However, Patty will acknowledge that she got treatment and basically wants to stick around town to prove herself.
Since Patty also has a wealthy, powerful family who hates her, she’ll understand what Matt’s going through.
Matt will feel a kinship with Patty and suggest it’s almost like they’re the same person.
Since this is no way to live, Matt will be determined to get his memories back.
Patty will ultimately warn Matt not to trust Phyllis, who was previously married to Noah Newman’s (Lucas Adams) father and has a daughter, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), who’s part of the family, too.
Patty will insist Phyllis knows why the Newmans hate Matt and that she’s setting him up, but Matt will struggle to believe that about his new friend.
Nevertheless, Patty will assure Matt that she can handle Phyllis and will promise she’s got Matt’s back.
