The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will have to decide how to respond when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) makes a shocking suggestion during the week of June 1-5.
Based on Adam’s dialogue in Y&R’s weekly preview video, he’s going to catch Chelsea off guard by essentially proposing a sibling for Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
Connor is a great kid, so Adam will feel like they must’ve done something right.
There have been some challenges due to Connor’s OCD, but Adam and Chelsea have learned how to be a wonderful team for their son.
It looks like Adam will think maybe they could give that same love to a new baby.
Adam will obviously have babies on the brain due to Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) decision to gloat about Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) impending bundle of joy along with their upcoming wedding news
Billy really got under Adam’s skin, so part of him may be feeling like he needs to compete with his rival.
Even if Adam’s doing it subconsciously, his feud with Billy could indeed be a factor here.
Adam has also been thinking about the baby girl he lost with Sally.
Now that Sally has Billy’s bun in the oven, that’s stirring up difficult memories and perhaps making Adam daydream about another child of his own.
Adam is with Chelsea now, but he won’t see any reason to rule out another kid if she’s on board.
However, Chelsea may have some good reasons to say no to getting pregnant.
For starters, Chelsea may refuse to contribute to any type of competition between Billy and Adam.
Due to the timing of Adam’s baby pitch, Chelsea may fear that competition is at least partly what this is about.
Furthermore, Adam is dealing with a new wave of grief due to all those Ava memories we mentioned.
Chelsea may not think it’s wise to rush into having another child when thoughts of Ava are driving all this baby talk, too.
Things are also rather up in the air when it comes to Adam and Chelsea’s careers since Newman Media was folded into Spectra-Charles Media.
It may not be the best time to add a little one to the mix.
Regardless, Connor’s well-being has to come first, so Chelsea may acknowledge that change is hard for him.
If Chelsea and Adam gave Connor a brother or sister, it could turn their family upside down and send Connor spinning out.
Bottom line, Chelsea may gently reject any pregnancy proposal that Adam’s going to deliver.
The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Adam may end up disappointed if Chelsea admits she’s not interested in expanding their family right now.
