The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is up to something that’s going to spell trouble for her romance.
Lily’s sudden, mysterious trip is going to make some waves once the real story comes out.
It’s never a good idea to keep secrets from your romantic partner, especially when you’re trying to rebuild trust in a relationship.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Lily is doing, so Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) is going to be angry, hurt and confused once the truth is exposed.
Of course, Cane kept secrets of his own when he built a massive empire as “Aristotle Dumas,” but he’s grown as a person and understands that was a mistake.
Now Cane is devoted to winning Lily’s trust back and sealing the deal on their future together.
Alas, it’s Lily’s turn to keep quiet about things that Cane deserves to know.
Lily obviously doesn’t want Devon Winters (Bryton James) to know either, so something big must be going on.
In the September 18 episode, Devon was surprised to hear that Lily was in Chicago.
That led to Devon’s persistent questions, but Lily refused to tell him the reason why she went out of town.
Devon called it a “secret work trip,” but is that really what Lily’s on right now? It’s tough to say since Lily was unwilling to divulge the details.
Cane also quizzed Devon about whether Lily was in Chicago on Winters business.
That led to Cane and Devon bickering over which one of them Lily was withholding info from, but the answer is clearly both.
Later, Cane left Lily a voicemail that once again focused on this Chicago mystery.
Y&R is really highlighting this, so it must be something that they want fans to pay attention to.
“Chicago feels very, very far away right now,” Cane admitted in his message as the September 18 episode wrapped up. “So, whatever is happening or whatever it is you’re doing there, I hope it’s going well. Please come home soon.”
It seems likely that whatever Lily is hiding ties in with her fall preview spoilers.
We know that Lily is indeed keeping a secret, so her history will haunt and threaten her future with Cane.
Could Lily be secretly married to someone else? If Lily tied the knot impulsively during one of her stints off canvas, she might be trying to quietly get a divorce.
Maybe Lily thought she took care of this a long time ago and is just now realizing there were some paperwork problems.
It’s also possible Lily is hiding something criminal that could come back to bite her along with Winters and Chancellor.
However, it feels like this may be something personal that’ll hurt Cane more than anyone else.
If it somehow involves another man, that’s definitely going to create some issues in Lily’s relationship with Cane.
