In tonight’s Welcome to Plathville episode, Kim kinda ambushed her son-in-law. It’s okay that she wanted to set boundaries with Lydia. Lydia was her daughter after all, but she pulled that same ambush on Zac and had others included. It left the couple feeling like they were being attacked. It put Zach on the defense.

He claimed that he tried to protect the younger children from Moriah’s influence. They all visited her house recently. Zac took a look at the risqué games they were playing and didn’t like it. He also judged Moriah for drinking alcohol. She didn’t conform to what they wanted and so Zac judged her. And he tried to lessen her influence with the younger girls.

It was wrong of him to do so. He claimed he apologize. Which wasn’t how Amber saw it. Amber defended her sister and Zac kept going round after round on the topic until they reluctantly agreed to disagree.

It wasn’t an apology. It was simply arguing with him because it was a long car ride back home. Amber and Kaylynn felt uncomfortable around him. Their sister should’ve picked up on it. Lydia hadn’t done so because she secretly agrees with him. She was always the most religious one still at home.

Zac merely amplified it. He was still doing so after the ambush. He made Lydia feel like they were being excluded from the others and really it was him throwing hits and running away.

He implied to Ethan that people have been talking about Teegan. Teegan’s daughter was apparently “baggage”. His words. He also didn’t agree with how sexual Teegan was because her being a single mother must mean she was a skank too. Or at least that’s how he said it. Zac was a judgmental jerk and even Barry who defended him believes certain opinions should be kept to himself.

Zac said that Amber was joining the church with a baptism. She was nearly an adult. Her family was religious at one point and so she doesn’t need direction on anything.

Zac doesn’t need to protect her from certain influences. He likes to take charge and he couldn’t with the Plaths because he wasn’t their son/brother. It was still an ambush though.

Kim invited them over to throw an anniversary lunch for them. They walked in thinking that everyone wanted to make amends to them for what happened at the wedding. It was a let down when they weren’t catered to.

It’s a word that Teegan used. She said that Zac and Lydia when she’s with him tend to believe that everyone should cater to them. They talk a big game about saying everyone was welcome at their house, but is that true?

Kim goes over there whenever she’s invited. Her issue with Zac was that he kept telling her how to parent her kids and Kim didn’t like it. She felt if he had opinions about that he should go to either Barry or herself. They will determine what’s best for their kids. Zac was just told to stop judging people and then he did it again with Kim.

Zac judged her. He said he didn’t understand her. He wanted to know how she operates. He thinks that Kim doesn’t really see Lydia and that could be true. It just doesn’t mean he has to be the one to fix it. It was up to Kim and Lydia to fix it. Funnily enough, Kim wants to be closer to them. She wanted them to feel love and accepted.

She just has a hard time opening up about Joshua. It was Lydia’s biggest gripe. She buried a brother and her mother refused to talk about it. Kim rarely discusses Joshua.

She still blames herself for his death. It was a void that could never fill. No, mother can move on after burying a child. She tried to be there for the rest of her kids as much as possible and yes there were mistakes.

There was also understanding. Zac doesn’t understand Kim and his wife does. Lydia acknowledged how difficult it must’ve been for Kim to continue to parent when a part of her heart died with Joshua. She doesn’t blame her mother or at least she doesn’t to her face. She just has to be careful about what she posts online.

Kim spoke about Joshua. She had so many memories of him and she wanted the whole family to remember him. This goes for the children that weren’t born yet nor did they ever get to meet him.

They all took part in celebrating Joshua tonight. They also finally threw the surprise anniversary party for Lydia and Zac. Zac nearly came close to ruining the mood because he was still talking about Teegan behind her back. He said everyone was talking about her. He claimed he was just the only one willing to say something to Ethan’s face.

Teegan never once engaged in a fight or argument with him. She remembered it was a surprise for the couple. She even helped decorate. She doesn’t seem like a bad person so what does Zac know other than her being a single mom that he thinks she’s the issue?

THE END!
