A Warning To Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth: Getting Married At 19 Will “Stunt Your Growth,” Says Olivia Wilde

Remember when Olivia Wilde was all, “I’m so awesome because I married an Italian prince,” and then she and the said-prince, Tao Ruspoli, divorced in 2011?

Well, the now-28-year-old actress recently opened up about why her eight-year-marriage failed, and if Miley Cyrus and her fiancé Liam Hemsworth are really serious about going through with their wedding plans, they will take note about what Olivia claims happens when you get married as a teenager:

I really had a sense that I had stunted my growth. I think that’s one of the things that made me feel so uncomfortable in my marriage. It was really no fault of my husband. It was me realizing that I had sort of arrested development. I knew the only way I was going to grow the f-ck up was to learn to take care of myself,” she said, reports US Magazine.

Interestingly, Olivia was only 19 when she wed Tao in a kooky ceremony on a bus, the same age that newly-engaged Miley is now. And while the excitement of flashing her engagement ring for the paparazzi (while also showing off your coordinating nose-ring) seems pretty thrilling now, will Miley still be happy ten years from now, when she realizes that all she and her Hunger Games hubby have in common is smoking bongs?

Maybe Olivia’s comments (and the fact she is one-Kevin Bacon degree away from the couple, as she is currently working on a movie with Liam’s brother Chris Hemsworth) is a sign that Miley and Liam should, at the very least, consider waiting to get married and have a long, multi-year engagement. (That is, if it’s not a shot-gun wedding they’re planning.) Read More: Miley Cyrus Is Engaged, Is She Pregnant?
